Default Power door locks keeps on locking

Just happened few days ago while driving with all the doors locked i heard the locks clicking as if your pressing the trigger to lock. but when i unlocked them it stopped. I cannot let the doors unlocked when driving because sometimes i have kids on the backseat. Any help would be great...tnx

I think we'll want a bit more info before we start guessing.

What's the year and model of your CR-V, and has it ever been in an accident / flood? Do you use the remote 99% of the time or do you unlock with the key. Is it new-to-you? Is it high mileage?

Does your CR-V have a Honda alarm, or was it added by the dealer or somebody else?

your kids are safe you got child safety locks that you can set.

as for the locks, you have a actuator that is going bad, which one is guessing, with drivers first. can always shoot trouble , unplug the drivers secondary, that will unlock all others, that will stop all three locks from going haywire, and driver only is automatic.

1. open up remove drivers harness that leads to all three lock actuators.

Hi Guys,

A couple days ago my locks started cycling or "re-locking" over and over and over after locking them (nothing seems to stop it except unlock position). It's a 97 crv, 267,000km, with power locks and factory security system. I have been searching through the knowledge base and I cant seem to find this exact issue with an answer.

Can the actuators and linkage be cleaned up and lubricated, or is there electrical contacts in the actuator that can be cleaned up, or must the actuators be replaced? Or just one actuator?

(details of the issue: -key fob locking results in "re-locking" issue. -key locking results in "re-locking". -locking by hand then closing door results in "re-locking", even leaving window open and pushing lock down results in "re-locking". Randomly it will stop cycling and stay locked but if I push or pull on the driver lock, even slightly, it will start "re-locking" again.)

PS, I'm enjoying all the great knowledge on this site! I have had a 97 crv since last summer. I joined the website a while back but never had a good enough thought to post I guess.

I would look at the wiring going through the door jam or the lock switch.

Check if there is dust on the push down lock on top. and more than likely the signs of an actuator.

The wiring is known to break where they go through the front of the door and into the jam. The break may not be self evident since the insulation could still be intact. You can just push back the rubber boot and wiggle the wires to check them. If you find a bad wire, then you would need to remove the door card to work on them. If not, you need to do the same to check the switch and it's wiring as well as the actuator Roadster mentioned.

10 plus years of door openings as well closing.......

I said hte same with my starter.....

over a Million plus starts eventually the start has to go, so does the actuators/ but hte wiring being of 26-28awg, you think that wear a lot faster?

I get my seat belt buckle caught more in the door, and that may be a reason why to seeif , just if it is the Harness
