Hi keithharp ,

I am sorry to hear that. If you can refund it or sell it in ebay.
The last year model Kenwood 6960 is on sale for $799

Thanks for sharing your story...sorry about all the problems.

I had bought one back in the summer, and then returned it because of some of its quirks. I don't think I'll buy another one online - i need to see it working in the store first.

just wanted to add, I bought one of those units from autodvdgps a year ago, and very happy with it. The GPS, SD, DVD, camera in, all works great.

Can play a variety of different movie formats, songs, and after a year with different weather (-10, +30 C), system is fine.

I was pretty skeptical as well on spending $400 on a company on the other side of the planet (I'm in Boston).

I got this one, Model: QL-CRV719:
http://www.autodvdgps.com/honda-crv-...oth-p-564.html

and the Igo GPS software works well with it. Delivery was super fast, I think it took like 2 days to get from China to USA, door to door.

I didn't pay extra to get the digital tuner, so can't watch TV on it (there's no analog TV stations where I'm at). There's no installation manual, but its pretty straightforward, the connector is plug and play and to factory spec.

Next add-on will be leather seats and mirror turn signals.

they sent a free one with the head unit, it works great, very high resolution, picture looks good during the day. At night or if its raining, its not very good (but still enough to not hit a car bumper when parking).

I hooked up the power to the car rear cigarette lighter, so its always on. Its probably rated for 10,000 hours so it should never burn out.

I'm curious to know more about how you installed the camera. Since you used the rear cig lighter for power, did you still mount the camera outside the car and run the wire inside to the lighter? I asked Best Buy once how they install their cameras, and they run all of the wiring outside of the car, which I was shocked by.

Just thinking off the top of my head here, but you could probably also use the backup light to turn the camera on and off. But then again, you wouldn't be able to see behind you while driving in case you need to drop bowling balls at someone

Oh, and I wish these aftermarket units allowed you to keep the option that changes the volume of the stereo with the speed of the car. Not sure what the exact name of it is, but I like the option in the stock radio.

The reason I didn't get the CRV719 was the lack of subwoofer support.

One update: I have since discovered that a lot of people with my phone (Samsung Impression) have indicated problems with their bluetooth devices showing the Calls Received/Calls Made logs, so that may not be a problem with the unit. I haven't tried seeing if it will read from my wife's phone yet.

there was a thread already about it here, tons of info:
http://www.hondasuv.com/members/showthread.php?p=434883

you can read how I messed up the install

careful you dont pinch the wires in the back (although I admit its highly unlikely)

let me know if U need any further info, it takes time to wire through the lid of the trunk and into the cabin to the front, but its pretty straightforward and simple (requires only household tools).
