If you didn't ask it probably wasn't done.

If it isn't mentioned, it probably wasn't included.
Definitely have that done ASAP.

After all the threads about valve adjustments that have been written in the last six years, I'm guessing you would have asked specifically for them to set it to the loose side of the specs, so if you don't remember asking that and they didn't mention it on the papers, it hasn't been done.

Logically speaking, adjusting the valves at that time would be a good idea. Since it wasn't listed, I doubt it was done.
$600 some dollars for a timing belt/water pump change is right on par. There is a lot of labor there. Check out the timing belt thread in my signiture to see why I say that.

I bought a timing belt kit with all the fixings from another member for $55.
I then bought new plugs, distributor cap, rotor, spark plug wires and a fuel filter. My mechanic did the timing belt work, adjusted my valves and installed the extras for $350.00. How did I do? |

You probably didn't do too bad for the work you got done, but you didn't mention anything about your water pump. Typically, the water pump is replaced the same time as the timing belt because it requires much of the same labor. Your water pump will probably go out before it's time for another timing belt and you'll have a timing belt worth of labor to change it out. Hopefully that won't happen, but that's why they do them together. Good Luck,

I bought the kit from another member who had it ready to install in his CR-V before an accident took it from the family. It was the same one now being sold on the timing belt site. My mechanic looked at all parts inside the box before they were installed. He approved of the water pump, timing belt and other parts. My job went smoothly except an air conditioner condenser pulley was replaced for the bearings were a little rough. Valves were also adjusted when Dale had half the engine taken apart. |
