Lightbulb Interior ceiling light - bulb or entire unit problem?

My interior light on my 2007 Honda CRV won't come on. Obviously, I have already tried the on/door open/off switch and get nothing. I figured that the bulb has probably burnt out, however, I have read some other reviews and it looks like other owners have had issue with the entire light console unit.

Is there a way for me to do the work myself? (either replacing the bulb - which I will try first OR replacing the console unit?) What are the necessary steps and parts needed to do this?

Thanks in advance!
Jen

have you checked the bulb? also check the door switch to be sure it isn't stuck in the off position when the door is open. check fuses as well. see pg 315 and 316 of your owners manual. there are several fuses that reference interior lights in under dash and under hood fuse boxes.

Replace the bulb, if that does not help, maybe it is the fixture. But, you can't rule the latter one out without proving the first one first.
