Unhappy Cluster lights

Hey guys,

Well when i got into the CR-V tonight I flipped the lights on and the back lighting behind the numbers works fine, but the "stage lighting" in the top of the cluster that illuminates the needles is not. I hit the top and one light came on briefly. I guess the bulbs are going? Advice how to replace them please?

I recently replaced the odometer backlight on my 2004 with an LED replacment, works nicely.
I am not sure if the procedure for a 2000 is the same, but should be similar.
This is how I removed mine.
Remove the lower portion of the dash, below the steering, there are some hidden screws.
Then remove the upper portion of the streering column cover, by removing the screws from the underside.
Grasp the trim piece around the instruments and carefully pull out.
The instrument cluster should be held in by screws, remove and pull carefully pull towards you, disconnect wire connectors and remove cluster.
Locate and replace bulbs and reassemble in reverse order.

Here's a few pics on a instrument cluster light change on a 2003. Not the same year, but maybe it will help

Posticon Pilot Sorry

I hate to resurrect an old post but, I am still having this problem but it will not work at all so I thought I'd take some pictures. So I think I will need to order the bulbs. My question is how do I remove the cluster to get to these? Thanks!

Based on your first post, if you pop/rap/hit the dash to get the lights to work, it is most likely those bulbs were good. However, the electrical connection in the socket was intermittent. Those bulbs/sockets use a compression-twist fitting, I believe . If the bulbs are still good, you can reseat them, after you adjust the fit. As far as the disassembly, it should be similar, to those posted above.
