Default HandsFreeLink & Bluetooth

What is HandsFreeLink? It looks to me like it's buttons on the steering wheel that allow you to connect to the phone via bluetooth with the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System. The 2009 CRV has both of these options available.

However people have been telling me that the CRV doesn't have bluetooth. So what am I misunderstadning? Thanks.

Honda has a website to explain it...

Accessory Bluetooth HandsFreeLink

Looks like it's a new feature starting with the 2009 Honda models equipped with Honda navigation systems.

But everyone is saying the 2008 and 2009 crv is absolutely the same except for 2 colors. So what's going on here? Does the 2008 crv have those buttons on the steering wheel, too?

I just went to the Hondanews.com website, and I don't see HandsFreeLink listed in the 2009 CR-V information.

Where did you see that it's included with the 2009 CR-V?

And any posts here are only opinions about what people have seen in the announcements.

Interesting, since it's not listed in the Hondanews.com information.

You'll noticed that it comes installed with the Navigation systems with the steering wheel controls.

And from the picture you get when you select a non-Navigation CR-V models it mount in the blank space near the center lights when added as an accessory:

I don't remember reading anything in the press release either but I could be wrong.

They added HandsFreeLink to Navi equipped Civics for MY2009 so they could have done the same to the CR-v but I would think it should be mentioned...

Interestingly, this link shows that the 2009 CRV has it: http://automobiles.honda.com/bluetooth/

But this link shows it does not:

http://automobiles.honda.com/handsfreelink/

Honda is wrong somewhere, I guess we won't know until someone can actually see those buttons on the car.

Speaking of the 2009, that Urban Titanium Metallic is beautiful!
