Exclamation How to Change the Cabin Air Filter in a 97-01 CR-V

Here are some pictures that show how to change your cabin air filter in a 1st gen CR-V.

These pics were taken by member dc9mm and due to the new forum software, the pictures were lost in the transfer. I found the pictures on the old board and the pics are posted below.

All pictures and credit belong to dc9mm.
Thanks dc9mm!

Its not hard at all in my opinion. Pictures tell the story. Have 62K on my CRV first time replacing filter, noticed lower blower strength. Hope this helps others.

First remove glove box 2 screws and 2 glove box stops, didnt bother taking pics of that part.

Admins, please make this a sticky!!!

For clarification, the wiring harness pops out of the clip to the lower - left of the yellow plastic clamp, and the yellow plastic plastic clamp SWIVELS upward so the wiring can make way for the filter to slide out.

Also, don't throw away the old filter until you remove it from the FRAME. You don't want to have to climb into the dumpster to retrieve the FRAME. Some cheap filters don't fit the frame very well. You may have to improvise and modify the filter or get a better brand.

Pictures of the whole heater / frame / filter are found at www.slhondaparts.com

Liquidfuel you rock buddy! We should have a walkthrough section for the posts that have the pics and guides in them. Good job!

The articles section was just for that . . . it's just got problems and I haven't heard back from Bing. I've been trying to retrieve from google cache, but it's not working so well. The one thing I'm really upset about is Varmint's RT4WD write-up. I really hope that's not lost.

If you threw away the frame, you are now full of shame.

I never had one apparently, thus the anger/frustration and lack of knowledge that one existed...

Since I think I'm missing #21 as well, I'll have to go for the entire frame kit. @#$% it!
