I am not sure what happened, initially I blamed the thieves, but I had a problem with the alignment for the Pilot since it was new. 6-7 alignments later, finally one dealer figured it out. It wasn't the car, it was the dealers...either the machine wasn't calibrated, or the tech didn't know how to do it. Anyway, I don't usually drive the Pilot ( wife does), I drive the 2001 CRV. I didn't notice that the centercaps were missing until one week later after I got the alignment. Could it be that the dealer when doing an alignment takes those caps out to install those measuring devices? In any case, I left a message with the manager to see if the tech found them in the shop. Or it was the thieves....why take 3 though and not all 4? It could be that someone was coming close to the car? I don't know....

#9 is:
44732-S9A-A00 CAP, ALUMINUM WHEEL CENTER $29.77 list price. slhondaparts.com sells it for $24.11 but then you have to add shipping/handling. Might be cheaper to just get it from your local Honda dealer. Some Honda dealers will match internet prices if you ask. Take a printout of the slhondaparts.com web page. To navigate to the correct location, go to slhondaparts.com then select your vehicle, year, model, etc. Then choose Chassis, and finally Tire-Wheel Disk.

Before I go accuse the dealer that lost my caps, do you guys know if those caps can be taken out easily from the outside without damaging the cap or the finish of the wheel? Can it be done quickly in a Wall Mart parking lot?
I tried to take out the remaining one, but I didn't want to damge the finish...it didn't seem that easy. I dread going back to that dealer since they hate me with passion because of the bad reviews I gave them when I called Honda Corporate. I have a strong feeling that even if they took them when they replaced my tires and balanced them, they threw them in the garbage. |
