Default 2003 crv - auto. tranny shifting problem

My 03 CRV has intermitent trouble shifting from park to reverse and also from drive to park. the shift cable recall was done as soon as it was issued. the dealer can't locate the problem and no code shows up. Could this problem be related to any kind of electrical switch or computer program that oversees shifting. Would there be value in in a liberal silicone spraying of the shift cable. I've seen that video on you tube. Thanks for any input. Tom.

We need more details.

What exactly, does "intermittent trouble shifting from park to reverse and also from drive to park" mean?

To dugan 7000: Intermitent shifting difficulty is as follows: Some days my '03 CRV will effortlessly go from park to reverse or from drive to park. Other days ,and with some frustration, it does not. When I'm having trouble it seems to help if I jiggle from left to right the automatic shift lever depending on whether the car is in park or drive. The issue seems worse after the car has been parked overnight as opposed to if the car has been driven around for a while. My Honda dealership has done the shift cable recall and, I believe, they also tried replacing a tail light fuse thinking that that may somehow be related. I think I'm going to try silicone spraying the shift cable as per the You Tube video. Do you have any other suggestions? Other than this issue, we enjoy our 03 CRV. Thanks.

Don't pull the lever to the left, keep it running on the side where it normally sits. I had trouble with mine when I was shifting into the lower gears....
