Question How To Remove Dome Light Cover...Feeling Like a Fool

OK, this sounds like the simplest thing, and maybe it is. I'm afraid to pull too hard on the cover. I don't want to break the plastic or anything. Nothing else seems intuitive. Any suggestions on how to get the cover off so I can replace the bulb?

I have a 2006 CR-V.

Thanks!

On the side away from the switch, there are 2 little spots where a small flat blade screwdriver can be carefully inserted. Use a shop rag to protect the headliner as you carefully pry up the side. Then lift up and out. To put it back, insert the end where the switch is first.

Nice mdugan.

Isn't this in the manual? I think there is a diagram in mine...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ih-goVKTUs

allow some time for youtube to convert from 4:35 pm

rate me please. and the job taken 30 secs to do?

thank you for allowing me to get thedust out ofMy Dome light LMAO.

how do we embedd videos? bummer!

1 no need to protect the Plastics , unles you are careless? are you? , but protect the bulb with a dust cloth or cotton glove

if you need to protect it. plastic tape if not scotch tape or a rubber band?
use your imagination?

2 start by going to your seat driver , and pass . push both up, for extra room

3 go to the back seat, and get comfty, do not fall asleep b/c it is now spacious, if you're too short move the rear seat up?

OH! man do not forget you can recline , relaxe with the seats too?

4. carefully start at the rear of the light feal for the slot Pop one, Pop two and then pull down with the scre driver easy.

be careful ifdust is in there it will get in your ees some how?

5 using a dust cloth on old light and new one place in reverse proceedures.

now you're done.

MD,SLeek. 3x and thank you. you are DA Best

Music 300

do not forget to keep the light switch off

mdugan7000: Thank you very much. I saw those 2 little spots, but I was afraid to get too physical with it without causing damage. I appreciate your instructions.

sleeksilver: I did not see this in the manual. I looked there first before posting here.

roadster: Thanks for the pointers. I look forward to the video when it is live.

Thanks, y'all! I'll let you know how I do. I'm sure you're just on the edge of your seats waiting to hear. ROTFL

roadster: My 2006 owner's manual must be the Reader's Digest Abridged Version. It only goes up to page 260. The Lights section (pp. 203-207) has step-by-step instructions and diagrams for external lights and the internal brake light. Nada about the dome light...or map lights for that matter. Pardon the pun, but in this case, Honda was keeping me in the dark.

And thanks for the laughs on the video. Loving the background music, segues and dramatic cover flip. You's de best!
