Honda Post Icon WTB: Older, high mileage Pilot EX ($10k-$12k)

I'm in the market for a Pilot. Due to my financial situation I need to buy it on a severely tight budget. To do that I'm looking for an older Pilot EX, '03 or '04, with high mileage (100,000+). Black is preferred, but any dark color would be fine.

Leather and navigation would be sweet, but obviously increase the price so I'm willing to forego them. If you have a Pilot that you're willing to sell for between $10,000-$12,000 please let me know. If you know of anyone who might have a Pilot they'd be willing to sell for this price, please let me know!

I'm in Milwaukee, WI so anything nearby would be awesome, but I am able to fly to pick it up (I can get a buddy pass from my brother-in-law who is an airline pilot).

Thanks!

Default Found one!

I picked up my '03 Pilot EX on Wednesday from Schaumburg Honda in Schaumburg, IL. Its black and it has 93k miles on it, They had it advertised for $14,995, I offered them $13,000 and the accepted it! I should have gone for $12,500!

Anyway, its at the tint shop right now. My wife loves it, and I've got my Ridgeline to myself! Wahoo!

Well, I got my Ridgeline in March of '05, so its almost been 2 years, and I'm at just ovr 53k miles right now. For about the first 9 months I had it I lived about 35 miles from work, church and family, which made for many many miles every day. We also took a couple of vacations to Florida and Texas. I just took another trip to Arizona in January, that one took me from 48k up to over 52k.

The greatest part is that my 4 year lease allows for 48k miles, which I passed in about 20 months. Ha ha. Its a good thing I plan on buying this truck at the end of the lease!

That's what I did with my Pilot but I ended up getting screwed on the deal. After my lease and about $14K in payments, I decided I wanted to buy it. Well, Honda wanted $22K for it. So right now, after having the car for almost 5 years, I still owe 14K on it. I could not afford the Pilot's car payments if I would have decided to buy it since the dealership wanted $570 a month but then they said the 4 year lease would only cost me $420 a month, so I went for the lease, with intentions to buy at lease-end. I stuck to my original decision but I severely overpaid for it.

Yes, I'm severely overpaying for my Ridgeline too. Especially since I bought the first one and they weren't interested in dealing at all, paid full sticker price.

I'm in a whole different frame of mind now and I'll never ever lease a vehicle again. I plan on not even buying another vehicle unless I can pay cash for it. At the time I bought the Ridgeline I was so obsessing over it that I justified paying $455 a month for 10 years because I couldn't afford $600 a month for 5. Ha ha, what an idiot I was.

I'm on a debt elimination plan now though, the truck, along with all my other debts, will be paid of completely in a few years. I'll have to refinance it at the end of the lease as I'd originally planned, but that loan will get paid off very quickly.
