Default Which state has the dumbest drivers? How did your state do?

I am really shocked that Texas is above average!

These are the rankings and average scores for each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia in the GMAC Insurance driving test.

Story: Test scores are in: Northeast still has dumbest drivers

Virginia didn't do too well but that doesn't suprise me. I know for a fact that New Jersey drivers are awful and DC drives are too. What is this test based off of???

Interesting that New York is well down on the list....I've never been to the US but I always had the impression that NY was one of the busiest cities.

I can't believe that South Carolina scored so well. My parents have had 4 cars totalled there over the years by way of other people's mistakes.

NJ has too many PA and NY drivers on it's roads. That's the reason.

But tied with MA? The agony!

It is by state not by city. Many NY city dwellers don't drive, or don't drive much.

It would be interesting to find out what the test results are based on, since the ratings themselves don't tell us much unless we know what they measure.
