Default Cruise Control - Stopped working

I recently went on a 2 hour highway trip (one way) with my 02- EXL (Canada). Since it was all highway travelling, I used the cruise control. On the way back about 1 hour away from my home, all of a sudden, the cruise kicked off and stopped working. I tried to set it again but no luck. I tried closing the cruise down by pressing the criuse on/off push button switch to the left of the steering wheel. No luck again. After about 20 minutes, I tried it again and it worked.

Any ideas what went wrong?

Sounds like you have a vaccuum line that is falling off. Or the cruise canister has a rip in the diaphragm.

Not sure about the 2002, but 2005 does not use vacuum for cruise. It is all electric.
