Spark plugs with no inspection, and Anti-seize, will lead to a costly shop repair?

TAKE YOUR TIME!

I made this video again, and changed out all four $26.00 pper plug from what Plaza Honda Quoted.

On sale till late summer/early fall $9.99 per Plug $10.00 rebate on register receipt from Auto-zone.

I changed my plugs around 85-90K each interval, and today I am at 186,500 plus, due for a change.

I did not show all four and bore ya to death. I showed right to the video, and notice all the strength on the ratchet, it taken great force to get Plug 1, and plug four out, while Plug 2 , plug 3 was easy?

Always, ALWAYS place Anti-seize, to the plugs thread, each time you remove and inspect. Otherwise, to the shop you will go for additional repairs?

Another great video by the roadster.
That first plug looked like a real bitch. I have always wondered if the anti-seize stuff was worth while as I have never had a plug seize like that.

Dude, that first plug was a bitch! I would have been scared shitless that I was destroying the threads getting it out!

Excellent video showing the importance of antisieze on the threads. I have had two or three vehicles equipped with the 100K iridium plugs and have always taken them out at 50K to put antisieze on the threads and a dab of dielectric grease on the boots. That way, I know they will come out just fine at 100K.

I replaced the plugs on my newly acquired 122,000 mile 2003 CRV which obviously hasn't been done before, but they came out a lot easier than yours!

Do not use antiseize on the plugs. When you do it creates less friction upon installation so you end up overtorquing them Then when you remove them, they are so tight that they break off. Antiseize is used on older cars which require frequent plug changes. ONLY USE Honda plugs and always use a torque wrench.

Although I've never needed to resorted to these tidbits, I've heard that 1) running the engine for a minute to heat things up may help. 2) drop a mixture of ATF and acetone into the spark plug well and let it sit for a day or two also helps.

But I do believe that debating anti seize or not is kind of like religion. Those who say no believe in over tightening, the burn of the anti seize changing plug temp, the plugs are precoated, the plug manufacturers say don't do it. Those who say yes to anti seize say so because of personal experience. Many heated arguments on other forums on this topic. Here's one that shows the controversy:
