    Default Replacing Universal Joint

    Hi,

I'm hearing a noise and feels a vibration when accelerating the vehicle, when the car is at a traffic and slowly accelerating..

I think the problem is at the propeller shaft, can the universal join there replaceable, but the local agent said propeller shaft comes as a whole unit..

_AWD members, check you propeller shaft_

Same story for HR-V, but SEARCH in the CR-V threads for much more info, suppliers, pictures, procedures, Honda paperwork, parts diagrams, etc.

Meantime, remove the shaft to prevent further damage or catastrophic failure.

HR-V parts diagrams are at 'ling's'. Probably the same U-joint parts as a Gen 1 CR-V.

Thanks for the info Curly, but if I remove the shaft will that cause loosing of transmission oil or any other oil (engine oil may be), can I remove the shaft without causing any of those problem, is it that simple to remove it, and you sure whether I can replace the U joint there, Honda local agent said, it cant be replaceable, since it comes as sealed type, im really worried here, because I just changed the CVT oil and its very expensive here in Sri Lanka, dont like to bear that cost again...

I removed It, 4 bolts in front and 4 rear, and 2 center bolts, Thats it. I think U joint is fine, but I felt something wrong in center joint. Shall drive little bit and share you the details...

    Guys,

Sorry for the late update. I got transmission valve body clean done by the Honda agents, and changed the CVT oil. Issue is gone now.. There are some small filters in the valve body also. So you need to clean the valve body, without doing that you cant get those filters cleaned. My previous owner had cleaned it 50000KM before so I also recommend to clean it for every 50000KM.
