Default Pics of my Pilot and running boards installed

Here are some pics of my new Pilot -sorry it was getting dark out

Here are some pics of the running boards with a story
Was bummed because I didn't realize I needed a special tool to install the rivet nuts, but like others, I tried looking for a solution and found some home made rivet nut tool, each one is different but function is basically only one -to install the rivet nut. So out of everyone's ideas, I made my own and the pics pretty much says it all, by the way, the rivet nut is at the very end of the threaded bolt after the washers

Here is the pic of the rivet nut after installation

    Pics of the support bracket

and last were installed pics of the running boards

On the instructions, it says not to tighten all the bolts and nuts until you have everything in place and lined up -"FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS"
It also says to tighten them at 19 ft/lbs of torque - this can be done by tightening them with the use of a socket wrench and your muscles ( average person can achieve this 19 ft/lbs of torque with no issues) if you don't have a torque wrench, but do not overtighten them as you may actually crack the plastic part of the running boards). But if you have a torque wrench -I suggest the ratcheting one, then you're all set.
The hardest part of the install is inserting the rivet nut to the whole, it took me about 30 mins for the first one and about 10 mins on the second one. Once you get them in place, it'll take about another 45 mins for everything installed and tightened.

I was looking to order from H and A accessories because out of the online vendors, they are the cheapest at $420. But I found and bought one on ebay from Keenan Honda for $407. Shipping from both vendors is similar so I saved about $14 dollars total plus they shipped it through Fed Ex and I got the part in 3 days. Keenan Honda is from Pensylvannia. This is OEM and not aftermarket. I found some after running boards and the price was comparable, and the step bars are about $200 cheaper but they are not as nice. Next up on the list is either the back-up sensor or blue tooth.

Sorry to respond so slow. No they are not tinted, at least not the front windows, the rear door windows and the fixed windows were tinted from the factory.

    Hi bluecrve:

Can you please share the part numbers and where u bought them for putting together the rivet nut tool? I ordered the side steps from an online dealer and in the same position as u with my recently acquired 2009 Honda Pilot ...

    thanks!

It's in the pictures of the nuts and bolts and washers.
He didn't make a tool, so much as use nuts and bolts to do the same thing as a rivetnut tool does.

And you did notice that the thread is over a year old, right?

Not all the part numbers were visible in the pictures and hence posted the request ...

Yeah, saw that the post is old but was hoping that bluecrve is still around ...
