Thread: Heater not working

    Default Heater not working

The heater on my 2006 Honda Pilot has apparently stopped working. When the heater is on, it blows cool air, regardless of the temperature setting. Also, the AC cools, but won't "heat" at settings above perhaps 70 degrees (in other words, if we set the AC to 75, cold air still blows out).

    Any thoughts?

    Default heater not working

More than likely Mike, your water shut-off valve to your front heater core is broken. You can check this reletively easily. The valve is located on the left side (as your looking under the hood) of the firewall in the bottom heater hose. You will see a control cable that comes through the firewall and hooks to the lever. Slide the cable off the lever. If the lever and the screw on top of it don't move together, it's broken. You can get heat by using a phillips screwdriver to turn the screw on top clockwise. You will have to get the valve replaced if you want heat and a/c without manually working the valve with the screwdriver. Hope this helps you.

Default heater blower in front does not work

The front blower on my 2003 Pilot stopped working. I checked all the fuses and they were good. I was told by a mechanic over the phone that it is likely the blower motor transistor or resistor. Any comments?

does it not work at all or only blow on one speed. typically they work at high speed and the resister is used to regulate the speed at the lower settings. When the resistor fails only the high speed will work.

The front fan does not blow at all at any setting. Heat comes out from the rear heater and that blower is just fine. Thanks!

It's rare for the fan motor to go bad but not unheard of. I would check the transistor/resistor first. That is usually what fails.

Air does not blow out of the front vents in my 2003 honda pilot. The rear vents blow fine, but nothing up front. I can also feel the a/c kick on for a few seconds and then shut off. Could this be the condensor? CAn anyone help?

    Default no air in front

I "could" be the same problem I had, the resistor. I do not know about the AC as I am in the mountains. See the string leading up to mine.

Where is the transistor/resistor located? I have the same problem.
