    Default 07 CRV Antenna Amp

I just had a double din unit installed and I now get terrible FM radio reception. Was the antenna amp located in the stock radio unit or externally powered? When my unit was installed the blue wire was not connected as I thought it was not needed. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_12040HD...a-Adapter.html

Seriously? No one has installed an aftermarket stereo with an antenna adapter?

Usually antellan amps are very close to the antenna. this way they don't apllify the noise wire picks up while traveling from Antenna to the receiver.

What is the FM sensitivity of your new radio.

Not all receivers are created equal. Some are better, some are worse.

it would make sense that the antenna amplifier is only powered when the radio is on, so i would further investigate the connection of that blue wire. it may be identified as a lead to an antenna motor, which we don't have, but can also be used as power for an antenna amplifier.

Solution: Connect the blue wire coming off the Motorola adapter to your aftermarket harness. This is a 12 V DC connection improving your overall FM signal vastly. (or in my case HD RADIO!!!) Also called a auto antenna relay control terminal.

    HOPE THIS HELPS EVERYONE!

My next mission is to get a **** PAC SWI-PS to work. Stupid blinking LED Interface!

I wonder if this is true on Gen2 and Gen2.5's as well?

US gen2 vehicles have a non-powered antenna mounted on the front fender, so it wouldn't apply to them.
some gen2.5 have an antenna mounted on roof near rear tailgate. if this antenna is powered, which i think it is, then the lesson learned would apply to it.

You may need to solder a 3900 ohm aor 5900 ohm resistor between the white and black wires.

    I didn't need it for the 05.
