Thread: rotor screw size 2002 CR-V

    Default rotor screw size 2002 CR-V

    I did a complete brake change on the front of my 2002 CRV (156k and counting). In getting the rotors off I complete destroyed that screw that goes in the rotor and holds it there. Does anyone know the size/thread density? If not I will just get it from Honda...

    You don't need to replace it. The wheels will hold the rotors to the hubs, just fine.

    Otherwise just get it from Honda. 40 cents list price...

    That's right you don't need it, I've had many cars where the rotor just drops out once the caliper and wheel is removed.

    really? I don't need need it. Good to know. Guess I won't worry about it. It was a nightmare getting it out after 4 years of winters in central new york. I put on ceramic pads so I should have to poke around that for at least 50k.

    funny, I thought that right after I hit submit. I did them about 2 years ago and never greesed the sliders. Sure enough one pad was completely worn and others not really used. Pads probably would have lasted longer if I had remembered to lube them up.

    So did you grease the sliders when putting in this set? You won't get your expected 50k if you didn't.

    Since you live in N. VA, I would recommend lubing the sliders twice a year. Once before winter and once after. Road salt is a killer.

    It was not the winter of central new york, but simply you need to use impact driver to remove those screws. Says so in the shop manual.
