Thread: headlight reminder beeper

    Default headlight reminder beeper

I have a 2002 CR-V. There is no chime to remind me that the headlights have been left on. Anyone know why it is not working or where to look for a problem?

    Tnks!

If you've had a dead battery in the recent past, you may need to disconnect the battery for about 30 seconds, then reconnect. Be aware your radio will lose it's stations and may ask for the security CODE, and you'll have to re-program the auto-up feature on your window. (read the manual).

Did you have an 'event' that caused it to stop reminding you?

it's more than likely the door switch on that front door. you can either A buy a new one and replace it or if you want to make sure, remove the one from one of the other doors and put it in place of the front driver's door. its just held in by 1 screw. it is a small black push in switch on the door jam. you remove the circle cover, the phillips headed screw is exposed, remove that, disconnect the electrical connector and plug the new one in. I could take a picture of it later tonight if you have problems finding it.

Curly, I bought the CR-V used last fall. Not sure the reminder chime ever worked. First time I noticed it was when I darined the battery after leaving the headlights on.

I'm going to try the door switch first.
