Look at the state of the radiator in the picture and you realise why you need a grille for your HR-V if you do ANY motorway mileage.

Grille cost 25 quid, took half an hour to fit and has saved me having to buy a new aircon radiator and a new main radiator - or at least delayed it as mine is not in good shape.

Hi

Is this grill available from Honda dealerships or is it a stock part from any motorist shop?

I wont be doing any mods until I get my Vtec but its good to be clued up on all the different options.
Driving back from Manchester on sunday night down the A49 (no road lights) There didnt seem to be much light from the main beams (compared to my previous car) so the first mod will probably be new HiD bulbs.

It's just a sheet of grille material, you can get it from most auto accessory shops for about £20 to £25.

All you do is remove the bumper skin, cut the grille to size and fasten it in place - it's MUCH easier with the bumper skin off.

Refit bumper skin and that's about it.

if you've not got a hold of the honda esm from here then i would advise that you do, it turns a complicated fiddle into an easy breeze :)

Heh - be prepared to pay for that when your tyres get worn. I think i murdered the first pair from new in about 12,000 miles of lunatic driving.

Roundabouts and stuff can be taken at speed, A roads are great fun and anything with a few good bends is a hoot.

As for the 4x4 bit - you wait till the snow comes and you can do doughnuts and pirrohuette on the spot :D :D :D

I think it's one of the most rewarding cars to drive that i've driven. Given what it looks like compared to how it handles, you can surprise a lot of people including yourself lol

Don't you see? His radiator is a seriously dented insect graveyard...

hehe mines no better! The bottom row of fins fell off the aircon radiator when i took the bumper off, i just ignored it and put the bumper back together - nothing was leaking and it seemed to be ok other than being a bit more compact than it was :d

My grille seems to be doing a great job of shredding the lil feckers - all i can see on the radiator now is a load of black dust that looks like ex fly material :)

That's crazy that the HR-V does not have one fitted as standard!

I can't believe there is such a big gap!

I will definately be fitting one of those!

Hi Rich,

Dead easy to fit once you get the bumper skin off and i highly reccomend doing that as it makes the job much easier.

Only about 12 clips / plastic screws and two meaty bumper clips just below and to the back of either side of the headlights where the wings start.

Once off it will take you no more than an hour to fit it!
