I do like the screen mounted in your top glove box though, i guess you had to lose the glove box to do it. If i had that in around here it would be gone in 60 ;)
Only thing i'd toyed with in all seriousness was a roof mounted flush fit screen and a dvd headunnit. Might look at that later in the year, but for now it's just seats and sunroof that are top priority.
Forgot to say, i do like your wheels ... fronts tyres look like they're getting some healthy abuse, i average 10k out of a set on the front in mine.
Heh .. replying to the wrong person again :-) Never mind, comments still stand but to leonard lol

nope the top glove box can still be used, ok you have to open bottom one to open top but it works, checked your pics like it

It's not till you see something that you like more than what you currently have that you realise you have more to do.
I'll definitely have to do something with the interior now :)

Space in the HRV is a constant challenge, i'm quite lucky in that I have no real need of the boot for anything other than speakers. Problem i did have was that the rear speakers had to be so close to the subs, solved that by boxing the rear shelf in with two side "vents" to allow the speakers to work in free air but without them recieving a direct pounding. As well as that, the boot floor is the only real place to fit amps so that when you take out the rear shelf and box and lay the seats flat .. you can still use the boot space without damaging anything.
Next on the list to do is to go back to a standard rear shelf, fit some expensive components upfront, maybe a custom door build to get a proper 3 way kit in there and stop using the rear speakers as all they do is provide infill. If i do that, then i can bridge the 4ch amp that drives them and get some serious volume out of it.
Summer is my time for doing stuff, will see how time and money goes :)

yea you dont realy need back speakers, im goin for a single 10" sub in a fancy encloser with serious amp to run it and thats the boot full then, i have a set of decent fronts which i have still yet to fit ,,,,,,,,ive had monster systems in past so looking at a nice sound quality now, age i think?

I think so .. i had one of the new shape micras back in 1996, that had pioneer 8" speakers mounted on both doors, had to use kitchen worksurface stuff as a spacer to get it to fit, it was as loud as hell .... but i'm not into that as much as the quality these days. Only reason i have half the gear i do is because most of it has been moved from car to car over the last ten years or so. I used to work in the trade so got it all at rock bottom prices.
If i was starting again now, i'd buy a headunit that had 4*60w and a decent amp and 10 or 12" sub for the boot and one decent pair of components for the front. Keep it as simple as possible i guess. Main reason i bought the pioneer mp3 player was because it looks utterly plain and boring, lost t rack of how many times i nearly crashed when playing around with the old 8400 i had when they were new and EL displays were not common :) In car TVs back then were the stuff of dreams and FAT wallets.
As you say, a bit of age ... but probably a realisation that you don't need the biggest and most powerful to get a nice sound :)

How do you get the spare wheel out  :?:
PatrickDorrian
05-06-2005, 01:03 AM
Well when i fitted amps into the false floor, i used the original piece so that it hinges. Ok it's not a 30 second removal job, it's more like ten minutes of unplugging etc but it can be done and it's easy enough.
That is actually the single most challenging part of building stuff into your boot!
