Does anybody know how to disconnect the chime that comes on, when your seatbelt is not hooked. I'm in and out of this thing alot in rural Montana, and don't always need it . Help if you can . Thanks.

See if you can find a seat belt buckel from another junked Honda that will fit the slot. You can insert it in there and you can fake the Pilot into thinking you have the seat belt on and it wont sound that annoying alarm. :)

But the sound of your head going through the windshield is even more annoying!
Yes, I know I am a pain in the neck on this subject, but I have had TOO much personal experiance.

I do alot of backing up with a trailer attached to my Pilot and also have to get in and out to connect and disconnect. The chime is annoying at times. N_Jay, I certainly appreciate your concern, especially from personal experience, however, there are times when you don't NEED the seatbelt. I won't even get into the whole law issue of the government protecting us from ourselves...:)

With regard to "government protecting us from ourselves" that is one way to look at it. However, it is really a case of government protecting us from the incredibly high costs of taking care of people who don't take care of themselves. Our insurance premiums, and also our taxes, are all greatly affected by the enormous costs of the medical expenses for those who's injuries could have been prevented (or at least minimized) by simple means such as the use of a seat belt or helmet. Personal choice? Yes, but it's still a choice that affects the rest of us, whether you care to acknowledge that fact or not.

thanks for the simple tip RFM; never thought about that before.
There is more to be said about the political/government POV in regards to seatbelts but I have no desire to hi-jack this thread or board and turn it into a political discussion; plenty of other boards out there.
thanks again
