1) I have a iphone 4 with ios 6.0. I receive text messages fine- but when I try to reply with one of 6 standard responses- I get a message " Message could not be sent" Any ideas how to fix this.

Well, you're doing better than I.
I too have a Iphone 4 with latest update and when I try to use text messaging, my 2012 says Not Supported.:(

Works fine in both send and receive with Android 4.x phones and BBerry, all rooted with operator crap removed. Works in both 2012 and 2013 CRVs

Turn your wifi off and go into your bluetooth setting on your iphone (click on small right arrow next to your bluetooth) and that will open a small sub menu and make sure the notifications is on.

My iPhone 5 says the phone is not supported either. The HandsFreeLink website for Honda shows that none of the iPhones up to 4S (5 is not listed as a compatable device yet) have the text cabaility. Those that have got it to work are lucky I guess...lol.

Hi Laura- On your Iphone- Turn your wifi off- for some reason it conflicts with bluetooth on honda crv.

Then go into your bluetooth setting- click on the small right arrow next to your connection, this will open a small sub menu- make sure you turn on the notifications. Doing this you will be able to receive text messages and have the system read it also- But you cannot reply.

Thanks, but would I always have to turn my wi-fi off? If so, it's not worth it to me. Texts can wait till I get to my destination. Right now my main concern is to recieve phone calls on the iPhone 5 via the HandsFreeLink. That's not working either. The CRV recognizes my phone and I can make calls, I just can recieve them. This seems to be an issue with other makes and models of vehicles...not just the CRV. (I posted this in another thread, so sorry for the double whammy).

I'm not sure how the iphone 4 is with ios6, but since you have the 5 like I do, you do not have to turn off wifi at all.

To get text messages, go to your iphone's settings > bluetooth > Handsfreelink > Show Notifications (ON)

Then go into your CRV navigation menu under phone set up and turn text messaging on as well.

That should take care of your incoming text messaging. Returning quick reply message is another issue though.

I have never tried to reply to messages but I can get them no problem. I never turn my wifi off either. I have a 4S with iOS 6.

I tried to do what was instructed yesterday by turning wifi off and all. It still did not give me the option to turn on and off. Then this morning while driving into work I got a text and my navi asked if I wanted to turn on text msging. I hit yes (my wifi was turned on). Like everyone else the option to reply is not there but I never replied anyway. I never really cared for the in car text messaging system anyway. Even with the volume turned up I can't hear what she is saying (probably because I'm half deaf from years of working on a flight line).

I'm just glad that the phone is somewhat working properly and hopefully Apple will eventually get around to a fix.
