Congratulations.

Out of curiosity, what problems/issues have you had with your HR-V in that 100K?

From memory your vehicle had the front suspension fixed under warranty? Any windscreens replaced, engine problems, etc?

MikeN: almost, i'm a business manager, techsupport and a salesman at the same time :)

freelance1000:

1) daytime running lights relay blew in the 1st year (warranty)
2) strut towers replaced under warranty @45K, creaking when turning the wheels http://www.hondasuv.com/forum_mdx/viewtopic.php?t=50
3) dual pump gears upgraded under warranty on second year, caused howling when turning in full lock or spinning the wheels on slippery surface/sand http://www.hondasuv.com/forum_mdx/viewtopic.php?t=89
4) transmission shudder @72K, fixed by a transmission oil change http://www.hondasuv.com/main2/viewtopic.php?t=535

no other problems, the engine is good, does not burn any oil, i change every 15K km. the driver's side window is a bit loose in its frame and does not line up all that good causing the Auto Up and Down relay to disengage, sometimes. the battery is amost dead. it was -10C this morning and it had hard time to start up. it's weird, my Taurus' original battery was perfectly good after 6 years when the car burnt down.

other than that, i'm extremely satisfied with my V - definitely the best car purchase i've ever made (okay, the Taurus had more spirit and power)

Thanks for that :) , I wasn't aware of the daytime running lights problem or the duel pump gears being upgraded.

mrtn,
was your Taurus an American model or is there a European edition of it?

Is it the law in Estonia to have day-time running lights?

bumpzter,

there has never been an euro Taurus. the bull was only offered in USA and Australia (which were RHD and some were imported to UK). my '96 Taurus was brought to Estonia in 2000. the European models have full size plate mounts except the ones sold in Switzerland which often have half size mounts like in US. the obvious reason for the Taurus not to be sold in Europe is Ford's own model Scorpio (Merkur Scorpio in US) which would be a direct competitor.

DRL are obligatory in most European countries, at least in the northern ones because we have less daylight time and the weather sucks most of time time ;).

Nice

How long/far do you plan to keep your HR-V? Any idea about your next car?

i have had some girlie-like moods sometimes, but after that i get to understand that there is no point of replacing a perfectly good car if there is not another car which' got-to-get-factor exceeds all other factors.

i haven't found any cars that fall into this category. CR-V would be the most natural choice of all but it hasn't really clicked yet. it would need some front seat modification as well, so it's not a turnkey solution for me. the diesel is nice, unfortunately manual only. other brands don't have any competitive SUVs: relatively cheap (compared to similar passenger cars), good fuel economy and lots of cabin space.

so i guess i'll keep her for another year perhaps or even 200 000 km.

one thing is for sure: every time i go to scandinavia for a snowboarding holiday i kick my own butt for not buying a CR-V. 500-600 km in a fully loaded (4 ppl, a roof box and trunk full of gear) HR-V is not comfortable anymore.

If you wait for another year or more ... the Gen3 CR-V should be available and could address the issues/concerns you have with the current version

I like my CR-V ... plenty of room, nice engine but I miss the HR-V handling, styling ... and VTEC

got the car back from the shop. the rust in the door window frames is gone, for now.

our honda dealer accepted the warranty case even tho my warranty has ran out almost a year ago. they understood the fact that the rust has incubated there for longer than that. r35p3c+.
