Hello,
can someone give some advice how to connect an iPod to HRV stereo system? I?m seriously considering buying 4WD HRV but I would like to keep my iPod running. Does HRV have an 12V cigarette lighter so that one may charge external devices?

mrtn will probably be able to help you with this when he gets back from holidays in a week or two.

Yes, I currently use it to charge my phone, and will soon be using it to charge my GPS.

Hello to all HR-V drivers / Lovers,

I own a 2000 2D HR-V and am also a big iPod user. In March I bought an 3G iPod and wanted to use it in my car. I have a Pioneer car radio, and do not have any experience with standard Honda radio’s. My first intention was to use an Itrip for sending the music via FM to my radio (Official not allowed within the Netherlands). Bought the iTrip and car holder and 12 Volt adapter via eBay. When in use it I heard a small radio like disturbance via the speakers. Thought it was the iTrip and was a bid disappointed. Looked further in the manual of my car radio and found that there is an optional device available to connect an additional source to my radio (Same connection as is used for CD charger) Bought this item also via eBay (Saved in total 40 Euro including the cost of shipment via Airmail from the US to the Netherlands). When installed the same sound could be heard. Did some investigation and found out that it could not be heard when the 12 Volt charger is not used. Have now learned to live with it. The 12 Volt connection in my car is located right behind the two cup holders behind the gear shifter so… no long wires through the car…… Only problem that I have experienced is that it is not that easy to control the iPod. You really have to move your eyes from the road. Am now thinking of placing it next to my telephone car kit. Have to think about how to do this.

Hope this small story is of good help.

Best regards,

Martijn

Just yesterday I made my HR-V ipod compatible with

a Sony head-unit with Aux-In and the following accessories from Belkin:

The ipod is plugged straight into the stereo via the autocharger so there are no issues with interference. Works great.
