Leather splitting

I noticed my leather on the passenger seat has 3 tiny little "cuts" in it..but they look like stress breaks, as seen in my 12 year old Accord. they are as big as the little tick marks on a kid's ruler. (sorry, I don't know cm :P ) It is not on the leather that has the prepunched holes, but a couple of inches into that part where the leather is smooth but still the seat top.

What irks me is that this seat isn't really used THAT much.

Will the dealer fix? If so, how?

That's a bummer! :( I don't kow if it falls under warranty, but try anyway. I don't think the dealer will fix it, but they will send you to somewhere they use (or recommend), just like body shop and glass shop.

Another way to fix it is not to fix it and use a seat cover. :lol:

took it in today for the recall...this was on my laundry list- he's ordering me a new seat cover!!

so much for a new seat cover. the area manager guy denied my problem and blamed it on my dog. said I could pay $650 (that is supposedly half) to replace the front driver and behind driver leather seats.

Sorry to hear that chowgirl. Telling you they will make it right and then telling you no they won't is like giving a kid a Xmas present and then taking it away. :(

what color leather you have? I have a situation similar to that.. the thing is that I am to blame... I sat on the drivers side seat with sissors in my back pocket pointing up... It sucks... I would like to get seat covers... did you end up getting covers or did you change the whole seat?

UPDATE: The Tampa dealer would not give me new seat covers unless I paid the $600. I refused to pay $600 for new seats every 3 years! :roll:
I have since moved to North Florida and the dealer here replaced all the seat covers! (not the 3rd row, which is pristeen, and just the seats, not the backs)

I saw the covers before they installed them..they look just like sewn seat covers, only made of leather. They looked like they would just slip right over the cushion. But I think they did have to take the seats out to do it.

Needless to say, I will never buy from anyone else but this dealer now! 8)

My warranty ends this September.
