Alarm System

Hello everyone. We bought our Redrock Pearl EXL-RES in Feb and I have come to dislike the installed alarm. I want it to be passive arming. I noticed that the alarm you can purchase from Honda for the LX has a switch for auto lock, but the off-the-line EX does not. I called the dealer today and they said no way to make it happen. This is the worst arming system I have had yet. There is no warning during arming if a latch is not completely latched, so you are forced to push the arm key twice and listen for the horn. Maybe I'm just being too lazy. Does anyone have any alternatives to make this a passive arming system other than going to Circuit City or something and getting a $200 system installed?

First of all, welcome to HondaSUV.com!

For me, I feel much more comfortable having to press the buttons so that I "know" the doors are locked... I guess it's just a "control" thing... Also, I'm pretty sure the way the OEM alarms/autolock are designed "not" to engage if a door is not closed all the way. So, when you press the buttons twice and you don't get a "BEEP", then that means your doors are not completely latched.
