Since the Pilot EX-L (2007) does not come with automatic headlights, has anyone tried leaving the headlights on at all times even if when shutting the engine off? Will it kill the battery if i leave it on at all times?

I'm just use to the automatic headlights, cuz my old toyota had them. I find myself forgetting turning on the headlights all the time now.

Are you sure that the headlights don't turn off automatically? It does on my '05 EX-L.

They do turn off automatically, if you leave them on at all times. But my question is has anyone left them on at all times? Does it drain the battery?

Why would it? The battery charges while you drive.... doesn't it?

Since they turn off automatically, you can leave them in the ON position and never touch them. That way, whenever you start the vehicle, they are on, kinda like having extra bright DRL's.

I feel there is NO DAMN GOOD reason to drive in the daytime with headlights on ! It is annoying to oncoming traffic (because inevitably they are on highbeams !) and DRL's are even WORSE ! Thank God Honda didn't fall into the 5% insurance reduction bs that GM & Toy , and others foister on us ! ( I know they are on the new Civic and 07 CR-V, but not my 05 Pilot or 06 CR-V SE !) Please stop being so lazy and just turn the control switch to on WHEN you need them !

Rally CR-V,

It's not the fact of being lazy. It's the fact of forgetting. My last ride, which I had for 8 years, had automatic headlights. I find myself forgetting to turn the switch on now and then.

You need to do some reasearch. Insurance companies don't give discounts unless a feature actually reduces their costs.

Please stop being so lazy and just turn the control switch to on WHEN you need them !

Dude, that's the most ignorant thing I've ever heard; why bother putting an auto-down driver's window, or electric mirror adjustments? Why not ride a bike?

OK, maybe I'm digging up old news with this thread, but I just got my 09 CRV and I think it's rediculous that I have to manually control the headlights. I'm gonna find a way to rewire them or something to come on and off with the ignition.

Where are you located?

All you need is a Helms manual and one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/Directed-Electronics-545T-Nite-Lite-System/dp/B000CJ24YY/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1224100925&sr=8-1

If you're in the northeast, I'll even help you out.

How's that for service?
