Bigdongers post (some time ago) showed us his centre console cool box. Not bad if you've got a few bits. But what about this for an idea?
Create a box that slides under one of the front seats that has a small inlet so that the outlets that are under there can post through into the box to cool it. You'd be able to get quite a bit into the box. I' might knock up a prototype.

Davemarsh - how hot is it downunder there right now? :D Would your prototype cool enough do you think?

Currently around 24-25 degrees centigrade, so warm enough I think. I had the air con tested the other day. They said that it blows at 5-7 degrees, which is within spec. In theory, if my coolbox is well insulated, I should be able to bring the temperature down to that, which is comparable to a household fridge.

to get your box cooled well, you would need to seal it off pretty tight to prevent cold air from getting out all the time.
I think its a neat idea though. good luck!

If you seal the box, you will create a dead leg. Then no air will flow into it and it will not cool at all.

You could have a sealed box with an aluminum (or any type of metal) duct going through it. Add cooling fins to the outside of the duct (similar to an air cooled engine) and the chilled air passing through the duct will cool the inside of the sealed box which is where the exposed fins would be. I'm not sure how elaborate you want to get with this though, but it's a thought.

geez that sounds like a lot of work.
sharperimage.com HAD little fridges
that can fit a 6 pack for like 15 bucks!
they were for home/office
AND came with a car adapter cable!
i bought one on ebay for like 25 bucks shipped.
lookup mini fridge or something like that
its more practical for the price. and u can take it
outta the car and use it at home. but i guess if u
wanna make a COOLING BOX by hand its possible.
