It is a 2007, NBP LX if I remember correctly. I believe her handle is Diz Chic or something like that. You can find her CR-V on cardomain.com too. You might also have more luck finding G3 CR-V's with rims.

There was an '07 V on cardomain.com with 22s, and I have to say that it looked pretty silly to me -- doesn't really seem to fit the proportions of the rest of the vehicle. Of course, I think any SUV with overly large rims and extremely low profile tires is goofy. Personally, I want some sidewall to help buffer the impacts from the road since cornering isn't a real big concern in an SUV.

Let's not forget you would be riding on one of the lowest profile tires, 255/30/22 so the rims would bend easily. You can also say bye bye to your ride quality.

Just me... the rims' design may be ok, but just too big on the CR-V. Low profiles tires just look very weird and out of place on a SUV together with the huge rims. How many inches is that in the pics? Is the car in the 3rd pic the same? Looks like until I noticed the fog lights but that may have been a later mod with a change in rims.

The 1st and 2nd pics are the same car/owner the 3rd pic is a different car/owner. Both cars are using 22" rims..
The CRV on the 3rd pic is actually using an air suspension kit, that's why it could go that low...

Sorry I just do not get the point of puttin such big alloys on a brand new car
(unless they are std fit of course)

The manufacturer fits a std tyre size for the car to perform at it's best
having said that I can see someone fitting Honda's own 18" alloys
or at a push the 19" alloys but not Alloys from other makers
I think it makes the car look cheap

Yes some people to put big tyres on cars in the UK but I still think it look

Tail lights have been partially blacked out using VHT Nightshades. I changed the configuration of the tail lights and blinkers also. Tail light is now where the blinker used to be behind the upper clear lens and bulb replaced with a red one (they have high output red LED brake/tail lights also). The blinker has moved up right above the brake/tail lights. The very top bulb has been removed because it is not needed.

I wanna get some opinions on the tail lights section because I was never a big fan of the CR-V long tail lights. I can always move the lights back to the original configuration because the black paint is translucent and the lights still shine red through the Nightshades.

Hi 07CRVon22s, how's the ride with 22" rims? did you change the shock absorber and spring?

07CRVon22s
07-30-2007, 04:24 AM
I havent changed shocks or springs. The ride definetely feels more rigid. You feel the bumps more especially on rough roads. The ride is not as bad as you might think. I wanted 40 series tires but they wouldnt fit.

I happen to be a fan of the tall/long taillights, as they are one of the distinguishing features of the CR-V.

So no, I don't like the way yours looks. But it's your CR-V, and you're the one that has to decide if you like it...keeping in mind that the function of the tail lights is to warn other drivers that you're turning or stopping, not to make your CR-V look "cool".

Safety first.

racooon .. your right about the taillights but he stated that he got hyper red lights insteadd of the stock ones.. i think its coool.. im gonna re-do my lighting instead of using the tape and post some pics..

i think it looka sweet on my 05. infact i like the look of it alot better thn stock.....

the only downfall to using the vht nighshades. if you dont like the look, its too sad you have to buy new taillights, with the way i have em night now just get "go gone" and scrape tht biatch and it will come right out...

I would agree with you on this one. I am interested if that is a real photo or not. I have not seen a tire that small. It would be virtually impossible to mount. It looks to be half the size of my 225/30 and that size is the smallest 22 I know of.

The huge wheel fad on SUVs just baffles me; I happen not to like the aesthetic and it severely compromises the utility, performance, comfort and road worthiness of the vehicle. Because I'm an over 40 curmudgeon I want to pull these owners aside and suggest that they save the money for a down payment on a home so they can move out from Mom and Dads house :-P

I'm going to establish my individuality by leaving on the perfectly good wheels and tires that came on the car, that should make me stand out from the crowd - much like driving a 10 year old Civic with the standard exhaust rather than the Folgers coffee can exhaust found on 80% of examples here in the Seattle area.

The huge wheel fad on SUVs just baffles me;

Kevin

I'm sure the owners like myself who have ditched our 15" steelies for 17" alloys have a good reason for it. I had my Acura rims in my garage for nearly four years after I traded a set of alloys I had for a Honda Accord for them. They fit so I put rubber on them. The gentleman above may have gotten a good deal on his 19" rims. We are all individual in what we do to our rides.

I know that when I buy my anticipated 2006 EX CR-V 2WD, I won't touch the stock rims. If they are alloy, they fit my needs.

I will agree with you on one point. When I see some of the American land yachts with 22" rims and rubber that is a 30 or 35 series in heighth, I just shake my head. That has to be a kidney busting ride for whomever is inside.

Be happy.

My taste and lifestyle are reflected in my vehicles. I know haters are gonna hate and old geezers gonna shake thier heads, hahaha. As long as I am doing what I like and am able to, I am going to do it regardless of what people think.

To "fix up" my ride I see the same as someone aiming higher in life and not settling on the norm. Just my 2 cents. Enjoy!

And it won't be long until you hit a pothole and bend/break a wheel.

I noticed a lot of familiar names over there. I only have time for one forum. Must be nice.

Back on topic. That was a heck of a hit on the pocket book there! To each their own I guess but that is just too extreme for anything more than show IMHO. With the roads as they are in most states, rims like that won't last long.

Lawdog1911
08-09-2008, 09:10 PM
That wheel damage was a hard hit. The cost was $1600 that was paid by the road construction company. 3 cars got flats including my co worker who drives a GMC Jimmy. I don't like that the tires are louder, but I can live with that. I use my factory wheels more often than these. Especially since gas went up. I lost about 50 mpg with the heavier wheels.

sgtsandman

I lost about 50 mpg with the heavier wheels.

I'm assuming this is an exaggeration since the gen 3 CR-V doesn't get 50 mpg. I don't doubt there was a heavy toll on the gas mileage though.

How much does that set up weight and how much do the OEM wheels weight?

I meant miles per tank

50 miles per tank / 15.3 gallons tank capacity = 3.3 MPG loss

...assuming you're actually talking about driving until your tank is empty, which is unlikely. So the actual MPG loss will be higher.

So about 20 mpg, not too bad considering...

Just how big is the gen 3 tank that you could put 16.3 gallons in it??? 20 gallons?

That tank was BONE dry.

Notice how his range to empty was 0 miles....

It will do about 35 more miles past 0 miles. I found this out when I missed a gas station coming from California to Texas and there were no fuel stations around and I had to keep driving past empty until I got to the next one.

Also, this gas station is one that has been known to tamper with its pumps. One time I filled up a 5 gallon gas can with 8 gallons and it was about 3/4 full.

Why would you continue to buy from someone you know is cheating you? I don't think the gen3 tank is any bigger than the gen 2...

As soon as I suspected anything it would have been my last trip.

Its the only gas station on my way to and from work and I did not want to chance running out of gas.. I tried out some 22 inch wheels but they seemed too small for the wheel well.

These fit pretty good with no rubbing and they had the right offset to where they fit nice and flush with the body. They are 22x8.5 on 255/30/ZR22. Price is $2300.

Those wheels above are hideous, no offense. :|

They look too small for the wheel well because the tires have no profile at all...

The side wall looks a bit taller that your current set up. It would take a road defect better than your current set up as well.

The price is a lot higher that your original wheels though, ASSuming that is the price for two.

Either way $1600 or $2300 is way more than what I would be willing to spend on a set of wheels and tires. JM2C

You ought to be contacting your state dept of weights and measures and making them aware.
I'd be interested to know what price/gal they are charging...

Yeah, the $1600 was just for 2 wheels and 2 tires. I did talk to the gas attendant and he said " I am gonna tell you what I told the last guy, we just calibrated these pumps and they are correct!" I called the phone number on the pump and it was to a "gay hotline".

well dead give away they're not. CR-V tank is 15.2 gallons, +.5 gallons for the filler neck....

so if you're getting more than that... the pump is wrong

Time to go to another gas station, get the number and make the call.

While you are at it, give the Better Business Bureau a call as well. Heck, you might even want to look at the BBB web site. There probably has been more than one complaint against them.
