Hey,

I'm looking to purchase a new black CRV EX-L (W/Nav) in Vancouver, BC Canada. I've done some searching & prices paid seem to be all over the place. Some suggesting up to 2K below MSRP, others quoting the dealer won't even move.

I visited Carter Honda today, they claim the best they can do is $300 off MSRP! I'm a bit insulted but the last time I bought a Honda was like 9 years ago, so not sure if things have changed.

Any suggestions on where & who I should talk with for the best price? Let me know b/c I will contact your lead/suggestion ASAP, as I'm looking to purchase very soon.

Thanks in advance!

The apa has a buying service in the big Canadian cities. Some have reported up to 2400 off MSRP for a CR-V in Canada. Enroll to their service on apa.ca and they will hook you up to a broker who will negotiate a price for you !

Good luck !

I recently bought a EXL+Navi from Vancouver Honda. They didn't really move off the MSRP. My father knows a broker and the best price he could get me was $800 off MRSP. I pretty much paid MSRP but was given free fogs, free cargo tray, free wheel locks, free all weather mats and a full tank of gas. I was going to buy the fogs and tray anyways so I guess it was ok. I also got to use my $500 graduation discount. So in total, I probably saved $1300-1500. I was kinda shocked about hearing people getting $2000-2400 off MSRP. I hope you have better luck than me.

BS! Wishful thinking. Buying services like APA are in it for a fee. Brokers are in it for a fee. And in the end, all vehicles come from dealers.

I sent a e-mail to APA ask them I got $2400 OFF MSRP, can they do better, they said go for it.

send fax to all dealers and ask them to beat.

Hey...thanks for the replies.

Well ended up getting it from Carter Honda in Vancouver...and getting anything off MSRP was quite a challenge. Even had to walk out after my initial offer to get some results.

In the end a black EX-L w/Nav...1505 off MSRP (this amount was = freight/PDI). I still had to pay for:

- Tire/levy taxes
- Anti-theft fee ($499) - this was new to me, I've been told panels of the car have been coded to prevent theft etc. If this car is stolen, on top of my insurance payout I will be paid $5K or if the car is recovered & repaired they will cover the deductible. Honestly it sounds like insurance BS but I was limited as they weren't going to cover this too. Anyone in Vancouver heard of this? I hearing all Honda's are going this way...

Included I did get full tank of gas, waive documentation fee, free 1st oil change & floor mats.

That's the best I could get, no broker involved. Hopefully this will help future CRV buyers!

Sounds like an insurance scam to me.

I test drove the new CRV and a Pilot EX-L today. I very much like the Pilot but its listed at $44,500 Cdn. Its almost 10k more than the CRV EX-L. I managed to get a written offer for $1500 off the MSRP but they are giving me a very very lousy trade-in for my 2002 CRV EX-L. I walked out of the dealership because I was disgusted somewhat... let's see if they call me back.
