What do you think? You can also see my body side moldings! I just love my baby! By the way...My hubby installed it himself and ordered it from an online company, it was much less than the dealer. If you have any questions, he would be glad to assist. As a matter of fact, he also installed the body molding.

Looks good to me! Thanks for the picture.

ps- you should 100% take that dealer sticker off the back of your CR-V :)

Ralph shouldn't have his name on the back of your beautiful new CR-V.

I really want to get a spoiler for my CRV as well, same color as yours, but I worry about drilling holes into my car! Did your husband have any difficulties with the install?

It's very easy to install. Read the directions a few times over a couple days before you do it if you're anxious, and while you're doing it go very slow. You'll have to buy the closest SAE bit to the metric measurement you can find and use a dremel tool to widen it. That's about as hard as it will get.

One more thing, make sure to cover the body well so metal shavings don't get on it. Using the small amount of tape they show in the diagram will not do. That's the only bad part about drilling into the paint - possible micro-scratches from shavings.

When you do this you should take pictures during the installation and preparation to help other out who want to DIY. :)

He says to use new drill bits and a high speed drill. Go slowly and follow the directions. Be sure to mark the depth on the drill bit. The hardest part was drilling into my new car! Measure TWICE drill ONCE! You may need to make the holes slightly larger, use a dremel or drill outward on the outermost holes. Do mask off a larger area so that the metal shavings don't mark-up your car.

Good luck!

My Hubby ordered it on line from http://www.hondapartssuperstore.com/catalog/

There you can find many items for your CR-V cheaper than your dealer.

When drilling into a painted surface, cover the spot with masking tape and drill through it. That will keep the paint from chipping/flaking/breaking off in any way. You'll have a perfect clean hole.

Yup, they've got the DIY videos on youtube to show you how to do an install. It looks real good btw! I like the side moldings too. Oh, and how much did you get your V for? All the dealers around me are stiff with their asking price- they wont do anything other than a few off MSRP.

Got an idea, since the rear hatch is tinted on the EX, how slick would a Black spoiler look instead of body color? (match the windows and clading) any photoshop pros here?! :) ... http://www.crvownersclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1644 http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/4785/crvrearslantedxr2.jpg http://img292.imageshack.us/img292/5751/crvrearzl0.jpg http://www.hondasuv.com/members/attachment.php?attachmentid=12151&stc=1&d=1193787331 ... or just see top of page 1.

pinody, that's an EX-L that you posted pictures of there, not an LX.

I would imagine that a black spoiler would look fine on the white CR-V if it is painted in the same flat black color as the bumpers and rocker panels. It probably would not look as good though on an EX-L as it would on an EX or most especially on an LX, since both the EX and LX have the black mirrors and door handles and the LX has the black trim on the front and back instead of chrome!

I think your hardest part would be getting it painted flat black. You'd have to order a non-OEM one from somewhere like eBay and have a local body shop paint it for you.

Why?
If you want flat black, buy any color OE and have it painted. No need to go after market.

I just can't see the black spoiler working, IMO it will look cheap. Go with white and it will make an already slick looking car even slicker.

On a LX or an EX, it would probably look fine, because it would blend well with all of the other black pieces on the vehicle. On an EX-L, with the color keyed mirrors and door handled, I'd say it would not look good at all.
