guys,,
need some real help.....
I know they r two different classes..
We r a family of two , me n my wife, no kids, n no plans in next 4 yrs too.
We have a camry 07 and r looking for an SUV. really confused b/w Crv n Pilot?? We would be don city driving to work for the next year but after that its gonna be highway driving of around 65 miles per car for next 4-5 years.
May take One big road trip a year.
The deals we r getting are :(OHIO)
PILOT 4WD EXL NAVI- $30,400. & CRV EXL4WD NAVI- $28,000.
Now, I know CRV makes more sense, better mpg, no kids but we r hooked on loving Pilot as much more comfortable, smoother, stronger with climate control and power seats in just 2K difference.....
The only issue is MPG. ......Don't know which way to go ?????

Go with your gut feeling... there both great vehicles.... If gas is a concern then CR-V...

Go with whatever one makes you most happy.
Be advised the current Pilot is in its last year of production before an all new model is released. The CR-V is cheaper, and gets better gas milage and might make more sense seeing as how you have no children.
You must purchase what you think you will be most satisfied with.

If you can afford the Pilot and it's appetite, go for it. If not, take the other one. ;)
Remote ignition? You mean starter? Don't. :-P

Obviously a tough decision but again it's all up to what makes you feel better. We looked at both those and the better half decided that she felt younger driving the CRV so that was the final decision. I don't think you could go wrong with either if you can get past the mileage issue.

So I've been noticing a lot of recent headlines talking about gasoline price increases, something like 20 cents over the past couple of months.
EPA Mileage Estimates:
2WD CR-V: 23 / 30
4WD CR-V: 22 / 28
2WD Pilot: 18 / 24
4WD Pilot: 17 / 22
Estimate how much you're going to drive every year, then estimate fuel costs for each vehicle based on current fuel prices. Your actual mileage may be better or worse, but the EPA estimates are great for comparing two vehicles.
I like the Pilot. I don't like the Pilot's fuel mileage.

I think if you can wait, you will probably find that the prices get softer on the 07, when the new 08's come out. Of course you may find that you really like the 08 and end up buying one of those instead.

1. Remote starter yes, auto climate control? What do you mean?
2. That deal sounds pretty good to me
3. It might hurt resale value, yes.
4. Search the CR-V forum, there is a whole thread on what people are paying for a bunch of different models.

1. a remote starter would be an aftermarket component, not a Honda accessory. I've heard of both CR-V and Pilot owners that have them installed. I don't think you'll find aftermarket automatic climate controls.
2. MSRP is $35,445 for the Pilot 4WD EX-L with navigation. Edmunds.com says the invoice is $32,089. $30,384 sounds like a great price.

auto climate control is something found in higher end luxury vehicles... in Hondas, u still have to turn the knob to where its comfortable... LOL
$30k sounds pretty good... wait about 4-5 months and the dealers will be begging u to take them to make room for the new models... resale will be a little worse, but if u really like the current model pilot, it is a more luxurious and commodious vehicle than the V... with that said, i drive a V, and wouldnt trade it for a pilot...
4WD Pilot: 17 / 22
those are the numbers i get in my 97 4wd V :/

I realize I'm a little late in posting on this thread, since most conversations stem from April 13.
Are you sure that the 30,384 for an '07 includes 4WD? We bought an '07 EX/4WD without NAV and got the best possible price we'd seen - - about $30.5K. If the price you were quoted includes all the goodies (and 4WD), jump on it!
Also, please - - for your own safetyt an peace of mind, DO NOT install a remote starter system.
1. I will void your Honda Warranty.
2. It is against the law in many states to allow an unoccupied vehicle to be
left standing with the engine running.
3. You're asking for your vehicle to be stolen. Most insurance companies will now no longer reimburse you (or your financing entity) for the loss, if your keys were in the vehicle when it was stolen.
