Mequire's NXT, huh? Looking goot, mon! My red '98 is gonna need some attention soon. Did you hand polish or use a buffer?

Hand polish is the only way to go . . . I've read a couple of articles about how dangerous a power polisher can be until you get good at it, especially taking a few thousandths off paint off the sharp corners.
BTW, hand polishing helps you get totally 'in touch' with your V, and you'll find the little blobs of tar and stuff that you'd otherwise miss.
:-( ALSO you can often spot a 'power polish job' two blocks away . . . .
What's the point of that ? ? ? Why not just autograph the sucker with a broad-tipped marker pen ? ? ? Hey, I did this, SEE ! !
Shooting Star, this particular job was done by hand polishing, although I think maybe some clarification might me needed. There are basically 2 different types of power polishers. When most people think of a "power polisher thay are thinking about a "rotary" type buffer. A large (usually 9" disk simply spins in a circle to buff the paint. This type of machine can be very dangerous in the hands of a beginner, easy to burn through paint and cause more damage than good. Leave this one to a pro. The other type of machine is an "orbital" type. This one usually has about a 6" disk that moves in a random orbit. Using an orbital is the best choice for someone just starting as it is very unusual to do any damage. Orbitals are much more of a fine finish machine for applying wax and buffing. They do not remove anywhere near the amount of finish that a rotary buffer can and are not designed for heavy duty blemish removal.

I really like the rims too. also care how, how much, where........... more pictures too please!
I painted my wheels with the same PPG Omni 2 stage paint (black/clear) that I painted my son's '93 Prelude VTEC with. They have held up very well for well over a year so far, including a really nasty Nebraska winter. I have also painted the LX wheels on the silver CRV with gunmetal gray Omni paint and they are fine as well. The real key is fanatical preperation and patience. I feel I can get 3-4 years on these wheels before I have to repaint them. I keep them clean and waxed also. Black is pretty unforgiving, especially on wheels, I have had about 5 years experience with black Grand Sport wheels on my '92 Corvette. BTW, the calipers were painted with VHT caliper spray paint. Great stuff, I have a Jeep with yellow, yes, yellow calipers with over 3 years on them in all kinds of weather and they sitll look great. I love my CRV, everytime I go to a Honda dealer I make sure I park it out front and it never fails that someone from the dealership remarks that they didn't know Honda made wheels like that. LOL

they look nice. How many people prefer to have the white lettering show on their tires? I know some do, I dont like to have the white lettering show.

Nice wax job! 8) So, when are you going to wax the other two CRVs? :D
Bishops Catmobile, Actually I wash and wax all 5 of my cars every weekend (weather permitting). I might be apparent that I'm somewhat of a detailing buff, no pun intended! It's basically my hobby and I have used a variety of products on the cars. My son's black '93 Prelude is my biggest challenge. Everyone should own a black car in their life, just to humble them in case they think they are a detailing expert! I'm currently waffeling between Clearcoat's Vanilla Moose hand glaze topped with Meg's NXT and VM topped by Pinnacle's Souveran carnuba wax. The NXT has a slight edge in the shine department, but Souveran is much quicker and easier to apply and remove. Since our cars are all different colors, I have an almost endless test group for different products, as evidenced by the hundreds of dollars of waxes, polishes, etc. on the shelves in my garage gathering dust. I love it!

I just waxed my silver 2004 V today. not bad but having the silver colour is a curse when waxing since it doesn't really shine as much as the darker colours. but then again it doesn't get dirty easily also. :D I posted some pix on my gallery for the first time.

Any pics of the painted LX wheels? I was thinking about doing that to my wife's CRV - but she thinks it would be ugly. Maybe you could post some pics to show her how nice it looks? Thanks!
Here's the only pic I have right now of the gunmetal gray wheels I painted on my daughter's '98. If you want more, let me know and I'll try to get a side shot.

dlw, have you had a chance to use Meguiar's NXT Carwash yet? I was buying the wax when I saw the carwash. :?
Actually I did try NXT carwash and was so dissapointed that I returned it and got some Megs Deep Crystal car wash. The NXT wash left waterspots and just didn't work for me. I use the NXT wax and top it with Pinnacle Souveran because I was not getting any slickness or beading after less than 2 weeks. The NXT wax really puts on a shine though, especially on my son's black Prelude. I tried the NXT spray wax and didn't like it at all, gave it away. I'm not trying to put the NXT products down, they just are not totally for me I guess.
