From the 11/2006 Honda Service News:
Dead Battery When Towing
Behind a Motor Home
Here’s something you should know about: Due to
an O/M error, some ’07 CR-V owners may pull the
wrong fuse when they go to tow the vehicle
behind a motor home. Later down the road, they
wind up with a dead battery in their CR-V.
Truth is, you need to pull the No. 34 (7.5 A)
(ACC Radio) fuse, not the No. 29 (15 A)
(Accessory) fuse like it says in the O/M. This error
was in the first printing of the O/M, and vehicle
owners with those O/Ms have been notified.
Current editions of the O/M include the right info.

Thanks kindly for the 'heads up' on proper fuse removal. I leave on Monday for 2 months, 6300 km trip south. I had just printed off page 251 of the 06/07/05 O/M which states fuse 29. I'm not sure where I found the original manual on the net. I'll have to check which edition I have in my vehicle. I'm sure your advice has saved me the frustration of a dead battery and not knowing why.
An example of the great value of these forums - thanks again...

Welcome to HondaSUV.com and congrats on your new V!!!
You have an '07 V and an '05 owner's manual???
Here's a link to the on line owner's manuals, including the '07 OM showing the fuse# 34 (still on page 251):

Take some pics for us on your journey!
Some members have said it's a good idea to make a checklist for towing the V to make sure you don't miss a step and fry your rear diff or tranny.

in mdugan's post it says some 07 V owners... so it was the first printing of the 07 manuals that was the issue... not the 05 manual

Trip went well - 6100 km in 7 weeks. Didn't bother pulling the fuse (either one) as I never towed for more than 7 hours at a stretch and always ensured that radio and fan were off as the ignition must be left on to release steering. Always had sufficient battery power to start the engine for the regular transmission lubrication.
I remind those who tow that it is apparently important after running the engine to lubricate the tranmission, that the last shift before turning the engine off is to be from Drive to Neutral and not from Park through Reverse to Neutral. Apparently some valves and such in the transmission can be in the wrong position resulting in transmission damage.
I'm pleased to say the CRV still works great - unlike the '99 Lexus RX300 which was also supposed to be flat towable. (2 transmissions later I decided Lexus lies)
