Do the 2007 EXL models have folding side mirrors? It looks like it might but won't budge and can't find mention of it in manual.

My 07 EX does. Pretty sure they all do.

Yes, my EX-L does.
How about the EX, even though they're not body-coloured mirrors?

According to L454S in the post above mine, they fold on the EX.

okay, this may sound wimpy, but how do I fold in the side mirrors? just push, pull or ? just wary of forcing it and hearing a big crrrrrack!

if you are sitting in your car and reach out the window pull the mirror towards you! I believe this is the way all or majority of mirrors go...

Go to a full service car wash. I am sure they will have no trouble folding them in.

They fold both forward and backward. There is a slight indent (resistance), but once you go past, they move freely.

Press on it firmly and it will fold. Don't be afraid you will break it; it will budge.
Aha, something I have not tried on my 2 week old yet! On other cars, I typically stepped outside a pushed towards the car holding the back of the mirrow with two hands. Will try tomorrow :-)

For the 08 CRV EX-L, are they power folding and heated? I'm reading the 'Features' excel sheet and it says 'folding power side mirror/heated". Is this true?

On the EX-L model, the power side mirrors are body-colored and heated for all-weather driving convenience (http://automobiles.honda.com/cr-v/exterior-photos.aspx?num=DSC-7702)
Interesting...

They are power mirrors that are heated AND fold...but are not power folding; at least not in the USA.

I thought so too but it says
Small Details That Count
Multi-reflector halogen headlights (http://automobiles.honda.com/cr-v/exterior-photos.aspx?num=CR7-14) shine brightly on the road ahead. And folding power side mirrors (http://automobiles.honda.com/cr-v/exterior-photos.aspx?num=DSC-7702) give you a bit more parking room in tight spaces.
anyone has 08 EX-L can confirm this for us?

Honda Canada website does not say anything about power folding mirror.

They are not power folding in the US regardless of what year it is.

I'd post about wanting to retrofit this feature from a foreign "Executive" model, but our resident-ricer would probably bawl me out for not flying overseas to get it
If I end up getting a parts dealer overseas, I'll post and let you know, I've got several feelers out . . . but even people I know in Europe don't seem to have an overactive sense of urgency

You can also fold them in/out by slowly driving into something because you weren't looking  did that ONCE.
Sometimes they call these "breakaway" mirrors. In my parking garage, I have, once or twice, RAN INTO one on a lifted truck . . . I'm not sure if I would have broken IT or MYSELF if it wasn't breakaway. Either way, it doesn't tickle.

Which parts do you exactly need....just the left and right mirror assy ?
erniep
01-09-2008, 11:06 AM
Yeah, I'm trying to find out if they match up, and get the whole thing heated AND motorized folding (since my UK built '03 has completely different acuators AND mounts for the replacement and JP built ones).
I can't imagine it will be cheap, but if I can get the part numbers, I can either shop around or at least start saving my pennies.
I'm in the US so I'd need LHD.

both sides fold in and out. i found that out on my 2nd week of ownership.
took the car to the shop for window tinting. the guy in the shop roll down the front windows and he pushed the mirrors out. i almost yelled at the guy coz it looked like he forced it.
but i later learned the mirrors go both ways, in/out.

The nearest grocery store to my corn field is in Cumberland, Indiana (a suburb of Indy). There's a large apartment complex across the street (2 lanes each direction, plus center turn lane) from the grocery store. The apartment dwellers like to amble (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/amble) across the road, and glare at you if you dare to honk at them for blocking traffic. Easy pickings.

It's more than 10 feet. Black building at bottom is the Meijer store, apartments at the top. Closest crosswalk is marked to the left.
What's really stupid is the brown/biege roof to the right and south of the 'target zone' is the Cumberland city hall and police station.

i always wanna hit the gas when i see people jaywalking or taking their sweet time crossing the street.
where i live... pedestrians always have right of way - always! stupid law. when you jaywalk, car is supposed to stopped and let u cross .
stupid people, they don't realize that they may have the right of way all the time - but when they get hit by a car, they may die on the spot and they will not have any right of way!

Pedestrians in uncontrolled crosswalks have the right of way here. You have to stop for them or risk getting a ticket. At a crosswalk where there's a traffic light the light is in control of the right of way.
Jay walkers, people who cross a street where there's no crosswalk, never have the right of way.

NY and CT have "in the crosswalk" laws . . . which is piss-poor. NO ONE stops, and the guy has to Step out in front of you to get right of way . . . that's lame.

I agree; in the UK if you're standing on the sidewalk (pavement) at a crosswalk (zebra crossing) drivers are required to stop for you. And generally speaking they do.

In Thailand the black and white crossings are warnings that there might be people in the road so be prepared to swerve. No one stops for zebras !!
There's a third button by the mirror adjustment buttons to fold in the mirrors here
erniep

Man goes on to prove that black is white and prompty gets killed at the next zebra crossing.
I'm really curiuos how much the folding mirrors would cost (at least base) and get started on some stock numbers.
Anyone got a good european dealer that speaks English? :)

You know what, speaking of power folding mirrors I could have used some at the last Redskins home game where someone broke my mirror!!!!
I'll have to post pictures later but this happened a while ago and I just haven't said anything. I had to order a replacement mirror :(

I was just thinking of calling the UK tomorrow to see if they could get their hands on LHD ones
I suspect it's going to be costly . . . the regular and SE replacements go for $237, but I can get them for $174 . . .
Still, if I can sell off my actuators and mirrors (heated) and upgrade to heated AND folding . . . it'd be worth $400-$500 :)

i think they gather it to one place so it drops off or it disperses, can't find much about it on any honda sites, and everything on the local site is in Thai and the sales didn't have a clue (then again no one i know could ask for it in Thai)
