In Northern California, this is the best quote I have received so far. What do y'all think?

Thanks.

That looks like a good deal unless you can price match it in a county with a lower tax rate. I'd jump on it if I didn't buy my EX already.

It's been a few months, but that basically matches the deal I got, which several dealers admitted was a better deal than they were willing to match.

Thanks Keith. I think I have enough info now to make a decision. I was told that the production date for my vehicle (in Japan) is this Friday, 3/30 and that I can expect delivery within 4-6 weeks. Can I get the VIN number from the dealer and make sure the car I get is the one that was produced on 3/30? Or does it matter so long as I get the vehicle I want?

Thanks to everyone for your comments and suggestions. I just ordered my brand new 2007 CRV 2WD EX-L (Nighthawk Black Pearl w/Ivory interior). The vehicle has a scheduled production date of 3/30/07 in Japan and I should expect delivery in 4-6 weeks! I promise to post many pix after I get her.

Thanks again!

The dealer cannot control the assembly line. A stoppage could conceivably occur that would push the real date back by a day or so. As long as the dealer gets you a VIN within a reasonable amount of time, that should be OK. The dealer wants you to get your vehicle sooner rather than later. They don't make the money until it is delivered.

As far as I can tell, the only reason to get a VIN is to make sure that the dealer doesn't promise you a car in order to get your business when they really don't have one in the pipeline. If they get you a different car, but one that still meets the 6-8 weeks, who cares!

I'm jealous -- all the 07s in my area are pre-sold and none of the dealers I've contacted are backing off of sticker. Although, that does make the whole car-buying process a lot less stressful.

As of today my dealer has 583 new Hondas in stock, but only 23 are CR-V's.
