You didn't clarify if you want to know how to install a seat in general or just in the CR-V so here is a tip I've given friends... dont just tighten the strap but sit in it while you do.... and shake around a bit. :D ... of course for rear facing seat this doesn't work... but lean into it as much as possible.

The latch system is great. My mother-in-laws belt wouldn't lock when extended which was a HUGE pain. I believe 2002 cars on all have latch. Even with seatbelts that lock when you pull out arent that great...
