I am debating whether to buy now or wait until the summer months. If I wait until the summer, I will be probably competing with a lot of other buyers that buy just before the summer holdiays if the supply issue has not been settled.
Then, I might pay more then than now. Does anyone have an opinion on this ?

I have had the CRV for less than a month now. I would suggest you buy now. It is just too good for the demand to come down. My overall fuel consumption on the AWD model is 27 mpg! I can't wait to see what I get during the summer with no snow on the roads and the break in period over then. Some friends of ours who own a RAV4 feel the CRV is very classy inside out and plan to go for a CRV at replacement time rather than a RAV4.

That's because CRV>RAV4 :)

If you can afford to buy it now and need a car now, get it now. If you can wait, then wait till whenever.

I'd go ahead and buy the car now. If not, wait until August when people see all the new toys out and they'll start shopping for the 2008 models. I'm not too sure if the CR-V will be selling as hot as it is right now during early fall.

BTW, I just saw the April 2007 issue of CR and they reported that the RAV4 is best in class with the new CR-V as a backup LOL. Meh, at least they recommended 100% of all Honda vehicles and Subaru vehicles with Toyota just trailing behind. I think it's funny how Mercedes Benz is recommended 0%! People pay much $$$ for unreliability and a fancy logo.

The inventory on the CRV has been tight here in the Washington, DC area. If that's common and it continues, then it doesn't seem like dealers will have much 2007 stock that will need clearing off the lot when the 2008 models roll out. With that in mind, it might help to consider how flexible you are on color and model type. I'm often a fan of waiting till the end of a model year to nab savings, but it does limit your choice to get your pick of the litter.

Wait. It will surely be cheaper and maybe if you wait, you can get an 08 instead of an 07. The 2008 will be a 2007 with a 2008 model designator.

Judging from your post, it seems to me that you're alright even if you didn't get the '07 V now. Could be that your current ride is still doing good service to you and your loved ones. That's good. You should be thankful 'coz that's one less pressure on your part. If you can strike a Zen-like attitude by taking a deep breath whenever you see an '07 V on the road, I would suggest that you wait for the '08 model. Perhaps with the '08s all those issues like TPMS, Rear Diff and some minor rants by the owners have all been addressed and maybe improved on. The only drawback with waiting is that by the time you get yours, it's a bit common to see the V's plying the roads by the dozens but hey! they're not the ones who are paying for your monthly payments so who cares about them/us? :)
