I've been looking around the net for Frankenstein engine info and I came across this article:

http://www.phatwhippincrx.20m.com/custom4.html

Does anyone know if a b20/vtec would suffer from this "supposed" danger?
It sounds like this guy is just blowing hot air, but it is a serious question to ask.

since the b20 frankenstein w/ b18 head is very popular in civics, i think u can get more thorough answers in clubsi.com forums and the like...

here's another source, from the other side:
www.importbuilders.com
a lot of the "phat" website is true in terms of r/s ratios (a lot of folks still believe that the b16 is the most bomb-proof engine), but like the guy said, history will prove itself (it's probably 4+ years running, and there are a ton of b20vtecs, ls/vtecs, and even companies manufacturing just the b20 shortblock)...there is also the issue of craftsmanship and quality (and also if the person treats their motor like an instrument, or a hand gernade)...

Check out the lastest copy of ImportTuner magazine (May issue, me thinks :D ). They have a good article on building up a K24(CRV)/K20A2(RSX Type R) hybrid powerplant. I wonder if it'll fit under the stock hood of our V's? It'll be a cool "sleeper" definitely...

It's the June 2004 Sports Compact Car issue actually, Page 205. It has a blue Mitsu Evo on the front and the tagline "Evo Orgy". It's looking at things as an upgrade to the RSX; I'm emailing the company that did it (hasport) to see what the gains (if any) for a CRV owner.
