G2 has one as well, I think it tells you about it in your owners manual so it isn't much of a secret....

There's one in the 1st Gen CR-V also.

unless mine was removed by the previous owner, my 06 does not have this feature.

I think thats because some sensors or something of that sort was placed under the passenger seat in the G2.5 :)

It is in the manual. That is where my amp is(at least it looks like one). I have an ex-l. My old 05 odyessy had the same drawer... I miss it but my V sounds SO MUCH better then my minivan did!

They all have one except for the models with Navigation.

I think G2.5 does not have it due to air bags. My manual even says do not put anything under the seat.

The under-passenger-seat tray went away in the 2005/2006 models to make room for the air bag sensors. The new G3 under-seat tray is only about half as deep as the G1/G2 trays. :?

I was looking forward to having a secret compartment (from reading the manual), but turned out that on EX_L that space is used by the audio system

My 2003 with navigation also have this... So I guess the majority has this compartment....

Maybe I didn't see it before, but I found another compartment inside the 2007 CR-V today. It's on the driver's side, a little bit below the steering wheel...there's this open compartment, and it's covered in a velvety/rubbery layer that really grips into anything you put inside it.

Why do you say that? I thought it was neat, went to look for it! I was glad OP posted his discovery

It is only a discovery if there were no prior art. Since it is manetioned in the OWNER's MANUAL it is not a discovery.

My idea of a "hidden compartment" wouldn't be one that Honda conveniently left out of the manual. Pretty much every car owner has a manual for their respective automobiles and therefore should be able to read about all the compartments, hidden or not.
To use "hidden" to describe a compartment in the V would have to refer to a compartment that a non-CR-V owner would not readily be able to find. Such as under the passenger seat or the one in front of teh left shin (as you are driving a US model)
Cause, lets face it, if you are trying to hide something, you are not trying to hide it from other CR-V owners. You are trying to hide it from thieves or from cops. So even though all compartments are noted in the manual, I still think some are more hidden than others.

Yeah I "found" it by accident, was looking for the gas cap release when I went to the gas station. I was like "whoa! another one"

yeah I don't read the owner's manual, like to discover things meself.

So this is the one to left of the steering wheel, not right under it, right? I discovered that one a while back... When I went looking after your post - I stuck my hand under the steering column, in the space that opens up when you telescope the wheel up... :-) I was looking for velvety liner you described instead my hand found wires! Pretty funny!

Yeah, I did the same thing. And I suppose you could put something really small there as long as you made sure you could retrieve it without yanking a connection loose.

I use the small opening on the lower left dash to keep coins in. The dished, flocked liner keeps them from moving around.

Until you start to collect some serious change. Then it's time to trade it in on an ounce or two of gas.

sry, but i like the little change drawer iv got in that same location of my gen1... its a little fold down compartment that has a door on it. That shelf would never hold my change with some of the places i go... LOL

I store my garage door opener in the "secret compartment"

For my change, I purchased a change holder and keep it in
the driver's side door "beverage holder"

Both work out fine.

My 02 V also had the same flip down door and I agree it is better, but you make do with what you have. I also miss the center storage door for CD's and the rear opening glass.:-(

Nice idea - what does a change holder look like?
Is it round? decription or picture would be great!
Where did you get it? Something like walmart would have it?

It's black, round and smaller than a can of soda. Has slots for quarters, dimes and nickles. Got it at Target for about $3-$4 in the auto section.

2007 EX-L AWD w/o Navi, I've got one. It is tiny in comparison to others I've seen, but good spot for users manual etc.

Now, I'm curious as to what the knock out panel in the upper glove box on the passenger's side is for. Looks to be about the size of a single DIN radio?

Screen location? also, that's the oddest compartment ever
