Hi, I'm wondering what prices are people getting on the CR-V with the costco auto program? (I'm looking for an EX-L AWD in Glacier Blue). and do they also give you special financing rates?

I think someone asked this question not too long ago, please search :)

Can't you inquire with Costco as to what kind of deal you can get?

I saw the post before , cant seem to find it now. But I remember that post saying that you can get it for invoice price (if you don't put the navi) which I highly doubt being that dealers are making a big deal just to go below MSRP. Which is why I'm asking for more input from others that used the Costco auto program to get their CR-Vs. You also need to be a member of Costco (which I'm not) to submit for a quote through the Costco auto program.

Well then become a member, get your quote, and buy a box of 500 rolls of toilet paper in the process!!! You'll never run out of TP!

I was forced to buy mine when my van died on X-mas eve so I didn't have the chance to use Costco for buying it. I was able to get their financing and also got a gift card as a thank you. Pretty good rates depending on your credit history...better than Honda financing.

You won't know the Costco price unless you visit the dealer they sign you up with. Furthermore, this contract price differs depending on zip codes. Typically, Costco price is about $750 over invoice which is still $1200 or so below MSRP. However, I couldn't use this pricing on my CR-V because the model with Navigations are not part of this deal. They said, it might in time, but not right now.

lol, sleeksilver. I actually was a member of Costco and canceled and switched to BJs because of the longer hours they have. If thats the case that they do give around $750 over invoice (which I still can't imagine any of the NYC dealers giving; being hellbent on MSRP only) and great finance rates, then I'll probably end up renewing just to see what offer I get lol  How does the Costco finance rates compare to the likes of capital one or your local bank?

I tried costco's program last year ( as soon as 06 came out and dealers was selling at MSRP ) and I thought I am getting some kinda email with the dealer contact information. but within 10 minutes, the saleman from local honda dealer called me and gave me MSRP. so I told him have a nice day.

I did use costco's finance program and got much lower than it appeared on capitalone's website. I saved 0.10% more cuz I am executive member.

Your APR is totally up to your credit score. Try credit union or direct lender like capitalone. local bank APR is usually higher than credit union or direct lender.

http://www.capitaloneautofinance.com/Public/Landing/Costco/ for costco's program APR
and http://www.capitalone.com/autoloans/loans/ capital one's current rate.
Your rate can be lowered as long as your credit score is good and choose automated payment.

According to the coupon they sent me, you can get $20-$40 cash card if you fund an auto loan by apr 1st

I used the Costco buying program to purchase my CR-V in November. They will only give you a price once you sit down with the dealer. My dealer had us test drive it before he would even mention price. After the drive, we were quoted $100 under MSRP. since we were in the market and going to buy in anyway, we took the deal. It was still cheaper then the other dealers here which were selling it for $1000-2000 over MSRP. It may be more now so the only way to know is to contact the Costco buying program and get referred to a dealer. The salesguy did explain that the discounts are negotiated directly with American Honda and Costco quarterly and is adjusted based on supply, demand, popularity, etc and also if the vehicle is a new model or a close out model. Lots of factors determine the discount price. He did tell me that if I wanted a 06 at that time, I could get it for much less then the 07 with the Costco deal. Also, they told me that they have a negotiated price for all accessories with Costco also but the prices were more then if I got it directly from the dealer aside from the Costco discount. I think this was a way to make up for the discounted price. There was no pressure to buy though, If I didn't buy it, at least I had the opportunity to test drive the car and get the price with no hassle.

I also used the Costco program to get price quotes on a 2wd EX-L with Navi last month, my experience was like barbecuesauce99's. The three dealers I requested quotes from called me back within about 30 minutes and also emailed me. All the prices were similar, running about $750 over invoice for a 2wd EX-L, unfortunately none had a Navi in stock. The dealerships seemed pretty firm on the price and did not want to go any lower over the phone or by email.

I did have a very good experience with the Costco finance program, I received an approval email within 30 minutes and the rate was much lower than through the dealership.

Whew, $750 over invoice would have been nice. We were quoted $200 off MSRP + tax OTD for both a 4WD LX and EX. We ended up going with the EX after squeezing them over the trade-in and getting a surprisingly fair shake there.

The dealer's F&I guy got us a very good rate on financing, but it's still a good idea to walk in with financing already pre-approved through your bank or credit union.

I tried putting in my old membership number when submitting the request for a quote and it worked. I submitted for both a NY and NJ dealer. The NJ dealer I got (Metro Honda) told me that with the Costco auto program entitles me to 300 off MSRP which totally sucks :-(. The NY dealer I spoke with (Bay Ridge Honda) refused to give me a quote over the phone and wanted me to come down so he can show me the price; supposedly because of some new law passed in NY that doesn't allow dealers to give quotes over the phone. Although, a week ago, a sales rep from there didn't have a problem telling me that they can match ANY written and signed quotes which was all BS when I came in and the manager told me, he wouldn't go below MSRP. I'm assuming that the discount is most probably going to be similar to the one given by the NJ dealer. So far, the only benefit I might get out of the Costco auto program is the finance rates which might not be so bad if they end being better than the other rates I got.

For Costco price, what your NY dealer told you was correct. Even Costco rep confirmed it in that the dealer would only show you the Costco pricing printout once you are at the dealer. Most likely, what your NJ dealer told you wasn't correct. You should just go in to one and check it out. However, they do ask to see your Costco card to verify. However, you have to remember that Costco pricing does not include the model with Navigation.

I experienced the same thing. Ordered mine at 300 below MSRP from the costco dealer. Another dealer was talking how they don't lose customers to other dealers and couldn't beat it. When I go there they tried the ole bait and switch for an EXL with navi and all i want is the EX. I was able to get decent financing though.
