First of all, Hello! I am new here and this is my first post. I am a 29 Female from Alpharetta, GA. I am so glad that I found this site. I wish I would have known about it while I was deciding if I really wanted the Honda CRV or another small SUV. Ya'll post great info!

This is the first time I have ever owned a SUV. I absolutly LOVE it! My new 07 Glacier Blue CRV LX is replacing my 01 Honda Civic EX Once I figure out how to post pics, I will post one, even though it looks like many of you have the Glacier Blue. I heard it was a popular color when I decided I wanted it. I only got it because I thought it was pretty and my 01 civic was the same as the Eternal Blue (Darker Blue). So I was going between the Silver and this one.

Reason why I decided to go from a car to an SUV
I didn't want an SUV that is huge, I just wanted something bigger than a car, but not as big as a truck. Most of the SUV's that I have always seen seem to be way to big to me. I'm also short and I wanted to sit up higher because I feel more comfortable because I can see more at least I feel I can. At first I thought I wouldn't be able to back out of parking places, etc, but I have no problem with that at all! I have wanted an SUV for a couple years now, but I had a civic and I loved it and just knew that my next car I wanted to get an SUV.

Reason I got the 07 CRV now because I loved my 01 Civic
Well on December 28, 2006, I totaled my civic which devastated me! Thank God it was payed off! The wreck happened on one of the reasons I said I wanted an SUV, I was coming home from work and it was at the time in the evening around 4:30 5pm when the sun is just beginning to come down and it was shining directly in my eyes. I had my sunglasses on, the visor down but it didn't help much and never really did. I am short (5'2). I kept saying I was going to get a phone book to sit on for that time, I don't care who makes fun of me or not, I'm gonna get killed one day. I came close to wrecking at that same spot numerous times and I guess it was just bound to happen. Anyway, my car was totaled and the car I hit which happened to be an older Honda Accord (90something) only had slight damage. Go Figure! Mine on the other hand you could tell was totalted.

Another great factor about purchasing the CRV:
CAR INSURANCE WENT DOWN!
Also even though I got in a wreck and it was my fault, my insurance is still going down about 15 bucks because I got the CRV!

If I woulda gotten the Civic, it would have gone up $10-20 bucks! That really surprises me. I woulda thought the Civic would have been much less.

Why I chose the LX instead of the EX
When I left to go to the dealer to purchase my CRV, I was planning on getting the EX. After I looked at it again and thought about it, I decided that I didn't want the sunroof cuz I maybe used the one I had in my Honda Civic EX 3 times last year if that and I didn't want the 6 disc CD Changer cuz, as long as I have a CD player I'm good, plus they have a hookup for my iPod so I can listen to that through my radio so I'll be using that much more. So I wasn't gonna pay an extra $3-4 thousand dollars for something I don't really need. I love it though! I'll email ya pics when I get some! Wanted to have my payments as low as possible so that is the only thing I hate about it...now I have a car payment. LOL

Thank You! I love writing in color. Do you mean what happened? I was making a left hand turn into my subdivision and the sun was blinding me and I let the 2 cars I see go past and then I just didn't see the guy until after we hit. Yes, I am okay. Thank God for the airbags which did deploy and all of the other safety features because my front end was crushed and I wasn't hurt except for some bruised ribs.

If you meant something else, please let me know and I will be glad to tell you.

Welcome to the forum. I am glad you are fine after that crash.

Here in Costa Rica, a lot women are of your height or even shorter, what they did is to put one or two pillows to sit on, I think you can try this tip if you still need it, at least is a lot more comfortable than a phone book.

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on the new CRV :)

You just bought a really safe vehicle, so that should make you feel even more secure. Sorry you had an accident though!

Post some pictures when you get a chance!!!!

I do really like it. I had errands to run today and I tested it out on the interstate and it seemed a little rough, but then again I'm not used to an SUV. Have any of you noticed that it rides a little rough on the interstate?

Thanks Magueto for the tip, but I don't need a pillow or anything with the new CRV, it was when I test drove the older CRVs and in the Civic with the Sun, but I can see perfect now! :)

I got my iPod hookup today and I listened to my iPOD all afternoon! It really sounds awesome through the car radio! I LOVE IT!!! :D

My '04 is a little rougher than a car for sure but you can't really compare it to a car. Sometimes I refer to it as "my truck" and other times as "my jeep". (mostly it's "the V")
