MSRP + Delivery charge + Misc.= Sounds good to me.

What, about 7% tax? I keep forgetting we don't have Sales tax here in Oregon

Given the current "desire" and availability of the 2007 CR-V, I think the MSRP + destination charge + title + plus tax is right on target for the market right now. The MSRP for the EX-L 2WD without Navi is $24,800 on the Honda website so another $2K for the Navi unit is about right.

But I think the $298 for documentation fee is too high. This is a particular fee that it has been my experience dealers can try and hide a lot of pure profit in for no return to you the purchaser.

I just bought a 2007 CR-V EX-L 4WD with Navi and the document fee by the Honda dealer in Seattle, WA was only $35!

It is always possible that there is SOME additional paperwork in Georgia, but I don't think there is that much more or that the amount of this one item is giving you that much extra value/benefit.

Maybe just ask the dealer in a nice, friendly way to show you exactly what all the documents are that you are paying $298 for. Then maybe offer to fill out the parts that you can yourself and reduce the price to $50...that might a new one for the dealer :D

I suspect they may try the approach that says, "We are giving you such a good deal on the CR-V price, why quibble over a couple hundred dollars of the documentation fee???"

Your call...but $298 just seems high for what I suspect they do (or don't do). You may also want to consider passing up the paint protection also. Typically this is just some kind of a polymer sealer that a detail shop puts on. Yes the car does look really nice once it is done, but it would look exactly the same level of sharp if you put the same sealer or a high end wax like Mother's or Mcguiar's by hand.

The fleet dealer at Honda Carland in Roswell gave me dealer invoice + $500 + $595 destination + $89 doc + $18 title + sales tax through AAA for an EX-L (not NAV). If you're a AAA member, you might want to check this out before paying MSRP.

However, Carsdirect currently has an above MSRP price on the EX-L NAV, so it definitely sounds like you are getting a fair price.

Doc fee in NW PA was $55 for my EX-L AWD. $298 sounds pretty high to me.

it all comes down to whether you want the car more or they want the sale more.

you really have the power, you can always walk away. there are other dealerships.

Hope you didn't go for it. Read my post above. I had great luck with a dealer in LaGrange, Georgia. BTW, pinstripes, and mudguards came with my EXL-NAVI. Skip that overpriced "paint protection". Wax or polish it yourself.
I got mine for $2654.

1. What dealership are we talking about?
2. What is your location?

I guess I should check back here more often. Were your questions directed toward me? If so...I bought my CRV from Mike Patton (Honda/VW dealer). And, I live in Panama City Florida.
