Dealer showed me the invoice for a couple of CR-Vs I was thinkiing of purchasing. The numbers matched up with what I got of edmunds.com except for a line item called HDAG for $222.44. Anyone know what that is? And the dealer claimed he was making less that I calculated based on the invoice cost alone.
I'm in Northern California, BTW.
Kwarner, I had the same question and even ask the dealer who could or would not exactly explain what it was. I did notice that it was exactly 1% of cost before shipping & destination charges on my dealer invoice. Was it 1% on yours?

I sent an email to an internet sales manager at a local Honda dealership close to me. She wrote back that HDAG stands for Hendrick Auto Guard. I would be willing to bet that the dealers were Hendrick owned and they both tried to charge you for something that didn't exit. For example, additional dealer markup. And if it did exist, it was for the wax job that was already on the vehicle or a way to build additional profit into the deal.
Dealers have different tricks to make money on any deal.
Best way to get the deal you want is to do your research, and then give them a "drive-out" price.

Yes, brea. It was exactly 1% of the base invoice cost. I was wondering if it was some kind of Honda fee. How about "Honda Dealer Advertising Group"?
I don't know about this Hendrick thing. There is no indication that either of the dealerships is owned by Hendrick.

I think you are on the right track regarding the advertising fee you are being charged for. Gwinnett Place Honda and Gwinnett Place Chevrolet next door are Hendrick dealerships. I'm not sure what you are dealing with on the west coast.
