Got our silver EX with AWD on Sat. from Princton Honda. Will post pic under this thread soon.
Primary driver is wife as I have had the mixed blessing of driving company cars for 25 yrs.
“Mixed blessing” = good: even when charged some flat rate for personal use, mighty nice not to have second car payment and second car insurance bill here in NJ. Bad: my brother Raymond says I am an “excellent driver” who enjoys driving but have been saddled with driving 20-25k yr in corporate fleet domestics including everything from K cars to current Chevy Impala (fav company car that was anything close to a “drivers car” was a 24 valve Intrepid).
This is our first Honda ever. Sold Subaru Forester L we had for 8 yrs. – that was a very good vehicle with an impressive AWD system and good reliability.
First impressions of CRV:
• Deceivingly spacious inside.
• Good ergonomics and impressive fit and finish.
• Moonroof nicely designed in form and function.
• Nice that there are multiple programmable options for annoying auto door lock/unlock functions.
• Gotta love the numerous cupholders.
• Weird, but to both of us, looks kinda small from a distance, but up close seems sizable/more substantial.
• Nice engineering touches as noted elsewhere here i.e. rear wiper automatically turns on when you back up when front wipers are on
• Decent low end torque.
• Feels real solid for its size, handles twistys, bumps, and uneven pavement well but curious to see how well handles really messy conditions and emergency maneuvers compared to mountain goat like Subaru.
• Love the wma/mp3 capable CD changer. Pretty decent sound for OEM speakers. Have loaded up several CDs worth of albums with music – amazing how much you can fit on a CD in this format. If you are not going to have sat radio in car, this is next best thing (I have a portable Sirius that goes between company car and home office – cant stand listening to “regular” radio anymore).
I notice that “random” play is only available within the folder or disc – 99% sure you cant randomize disc to disc i.e. shuffle play, correct?
