Hi everyone., I'm looking to buy a new 2007 CRV and heard about this forum and noticed alot of issues with the rear differential problem.

First off, I don't work for Honda or any other company doing research. I own a 2001 Forester LTD and I'm looking to trade up to something a little larger.

I'm trying to find out where most of the people who reported this problem is located - Canada or USA or other.

How long have the CRVs been in the showrooms in the US.
In Canada - Vancouver, BC where I am, I noticed them in the showrooms in Late November.

I was told by one dealer that the new CRV is built in Ohio and some in Japan and when I asked him about the rear diff problem, he said he never heard of it. - Just a regular sales man pitch. Deny any knowlledge.

Please post your country and indicate if the problem has been fixed and by what method and how long have you had your new CRV.

Country: (USA, Canada, other)
Problem Fixed: (Yes, No)
When did you purchase your CRV:

Thanks!

Minnesota, USA

EX-L Had it for about a month now. Experienced the problem 2 weeks after getting the vechicle. Took Honda 3 days to fix it, initial diagnosis and waiting for parts. No compensation offered. It is working great now. I do like the car.

We'll I think I'm going to hit a couple of showrooms and take a few CRV for a test drive and see if I have a simular problem over here in Vancouver, Canada.

I know that it's a first model year and Honda will fix any problems under warranty but then I may need to decide if I want to buy the extened warrany.

Look for a US assembled one rather than the early Japan-assembled ones. The issue (speculative since Honda hasn't publicly said) seems to only be on the early Japan assembled ones. I don't believe you will find any issues on a test drive. People have said it crops up after several hundred to a couple thousand miles.

I agree with Rac, I don't think it has ANYTHING to do with where you are located. It has to do with what factory your CRV came from and it's build date.

This might be a pointless compilation of data

Ohio built CRVs certainly won't have this problem.
