talking about the new 2007 CR-V. The top model Executive with automatic transmission, sunroof, xenon lights + + + 2.0 liter enginge.
That's the price here in Norway, 75.000 $..............
Wow...in comparison, how much would a BMW X3 in similar trim cost?

Here's the pricelist. The Blue circle is prices with Automativ transmission, the red cirkle is with manual transmission. This is the base price.
And I might add that people choose exstra equipment for about 20.000 $ a car, Metalic paint, winter tires and rims, leather upholstry, sport package, etc etc etc...
The prices is Norwegian kroner, divide it by 6,2 and you'll have the price in US$.

Your conversion can't be right.... 6.2 would give me a 70K X3.

Yes. That sounds about right. Both Europe and Asia, car prices were a lot higher than in that of US (even for an European cars). Even in the US, if you get top of the line, fully loaded X3, it would cost us approx. 50K + before tax and license.
Going back to CR-V in Europe. I've already mentioned it other posting but, in Eurpe/Asia, there are no Acura brand, all Acura brands are just called Honda. Couldn't it be possible that what they are selling as CR-V executive could be a European version of RDX which has Xenon head light, turbo charges, etc.
Because Acura TSX was called Honda Accord R in Europe.
SS, I just checked Bloomberg at work and the FX rate for NOK is:
1 NOK = 0.16188 USD
or
1 USD = 6.17743 NOK
So an auto tranny X3 3.0si = 780,200NOK or $126,300 USD.
Yup, we have it real good here in the US, eh?

look at the column to the right of the red and blue price, called "Herav avgift" and "Herav avgift m/automat" you can see what the tax on the car is. Straight into the governmnets pocket. And of course the total price does include the norwegian 25% VAT......
So the winner is: ??? The Government !!!
And don't get me started on the 6,5 $ a gallon for gas....
