I know it sounds like a ZZ Top song, but I'm really talking about that goop that Honda smears all over the car in shipment.

I'm still finding that stuff in spots. In small quantities, I carefully use my fingernail to take it off. But today I found a fairly large patch of it on the hood.

Anyone know a chemical that will safely break that stuff down?

WD-40 will do the trick without hurting the finish.

It is the adhesive from the protective film that is applied to the car to prevent minor damage like rail dust,bug guts,sand etc.

You can use a solvent called speedy to remove the adhesive.
